This is a clean, comfortable hostal (akin to a pension in other countries, NOT a hostel with shared facilities) that’s in a superb location (steps away from the Noviciado Metro station and walking distance to major attractions). The walls might be thin, but it wasn’t overly noisy from other guests during my five-night stay. My double room (209) was on... More

Just returned from a great break in Madrid. Being confused by the thousands of hotels in central Madrid we played it safe and booked a second stay at Abami I I hostal on calle San Bernado just off Grand Via. Despite the 58 steps (phew) up to reception/rooms this is a very clean and modern hostel.....much more worthy than its... More

We were looking for many hotel and hostel and this one seems perfect, and we stayed there, it was extremely perfect. Better is possible. We always recommend it to our friends but it is always full. We booked with almost six month before. We were lucky.

Hostel is several floors up so bring your stamina! Temperature was 39 degrees outside for our July stay, too. But the two staff members Fabiola and Jacek outshone all that. Both were very helpful... Muchas Gracias y Dziekuje bardzo!...to us and to our daughter. Location is just off Gran Via, the liveliest street for an evening Paseo...but very quiet place... More

This is a really nice and quaint B&B/hostel just minutes from the Gran Via (main streets). It is a short walk away from major stores and very close to a subway station. From Madrid's main station you can take the blue line to punta del sol and then red line to Novicidad. The hostel is a short walk from the... More

Firstly I'd like to say big "thanks you" to the staff cos their check - in starts at 1 pm and I've arrived at 11 am and it wasn't problem to check - in earlier at all. Room was small but very clean and modern. Locations couldn't be better within walking distance to all of the main landmarks. Air con... More

Late April, 2015. As we waited to board our flight to Madrid, Hostal Abami II emailed us to say that our reservation for a room on arrival night had been cancelled. The reason given was that there was a serious plumbing problem at the hostal. Serious plumbing problems ordinarily don't happen without some sense that they are imminent. We feel... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in February 2015. The hostal is in a great location just off Grand Via and very close to 3 metro stops. The Hostal rooms are extreamly clean and a good size. The room was cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels each day. The staff are very friendly and have good English... More

We stayed in the hostel for four nights and were very satisfied with the location, staff, comfort, cleanness. All of the main Madrid attractions are within walking distance from the hostel. The view from the balcony is nice, looking on the street so you can feel the atmosphere around you. Places to have a coffee and eat are very near.... More

The location is great. Plenty of the main attractions are within walking distance. The rooms are very clean, basic but this is what you paying for. The design is modern and tasteful. Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
