I read the reviews and so I knew the hotel had a reputation for being loud and I specifically asked for a quiet room in the reservation. When I arrived they told me my room was on the ground floor facing a bar with a huge glass bottle recycling container under the window. I said the room sounded like a...

Rooms are very clean, modern. Each has a pc in the room to use. Staff very helpful. Restaurant and Bar don't appear to get much attendance at this time of year (Main Bar is an outdoor area) - but I would imagine are a great place to relax when its hotter weather.

The location was great as were the amenities (although I used very few) however my room was located on the street side and so incredibly loud! I was woken up in the night and struggled to get back to sleep with all of the noise outside, it was 3.30am on a Friday morning so not even the weekend, however a...

Stayed for 2 nights, 1 room for 5 adult males. Irene on reception let us check-in to our room 3 hours early. Very friendly staff , nice clean hotel. Walking distance to most places. Cheap bar next door €1.50 for a large beer. 2 minutes from the Metro.

Hotel offers a great central location to discover Madrid. Right at the Santa Barbara square, so please ensure a room not at the front to avoid some noise. From this location you are very close to the major museums, restaurants & bars and shopping streets. The hotel offers a nice breakfast with lots of fresh food!

Well located close to the centre and Matro, but the hotel itself was nothing special. Clean, all the services, but there was a wow factor missing. No bar and just a somewhat soulless restaurant. Breakfast selection was good. Still waiting for my factura which they promised to email!

I spend most weeks in uk hotels due to my job, so stepping away from the larger global brands is sometimes a worry. This hotel was perfect, fairly priced and a good location for the metro. Family room has cool bunkbeds just a little bit away from the double bed/main part of the room. Massive bathroom, with a great shower....

Had a weekend there with three other friends and all I can say is that I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone. Just next to "Chueca" (where all the gay culture of Madrid is located), the location is great and everything you need is next to you : You're 1 min away from the first subway station "Alonso Martinez",...

The building is very beautiful, staff is very friendly and location is very convenient. You should definitely have breakfast here, because they have one of the best breakfast buffets in the Madrid! Room is also very nice, only minor point is that we were on the top floor and had a very small window, so we didn't have a view.

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
