I stayed here for one night in May 2017. I chose the hotel for its proximity to the train station and the coffee machine in the lobby - it seemed like a good idea before my early flight. I was happy with those attributes and I also would like to say that the front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and...

Dear JenCoutts, Thank you for your feedback. I am happy to know that you liked our location and to see that our staff helped you in every need. Regarding your questions about no separation between room and bathroom in some of the rooms in the hotel, I would like to say that this is part of the design concept devised...

We booked a room after seeing Urban Sea Atocha recommended by Rick Steves as the last stop on our month-long trip to Spain. We knew from the recommendation that it was just a normal chain hotel, but that it was close to the Atocha train station (true) and very close to the Reina Sofia and Prado museums (also true). When...

Dear Susan, Thank you for taking the time to review Urban Sea Atocha 113 on TripAdvisor. I'm glad that you liked our location, cleanliness and free drinks at the lobby. I would also like to apologize if we could not offer you an upgrade to a superior room facing the street during your stay. We use to be fully booked...

This felt more like staying in a mediocre hostel than a decent hotel - and the type of hostel that inspires bad horror movies at that. From the misguided attempt to be hip and minimalist with completely dark hallways with poor motion sensors, which leave you carting your luggage in the dark to the completely white walls and rooms, which...

Dear guest, Thank your for your feedback. We highly regret that you had a negative experience. We are trying hard to make all of our guests feel like at home and we feel very sorry when we don't fully achieve this. This is the first time that one of our guests compare our rooms with a mental institution or a...

We were just passing through Madrid on our way to Toledo and wanted a place within walking distance to the train station. This fit the bill. Be aware, the rooms are small, to say the least, but this it not a place to lounge around in. It is a clean, basic, well kept up place to sleep on your way...

Very good value. The room was well laid out with immaculate bathroom and comfortable bed. The location couldn't have been better! It is across the street from Reina Sofia and near other sites and the train station. The street is very busy so if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the back. Also it is close to...

We stayed first two nights in a room faced the street, we ignored the previous reviews and did not request the quiet room and could not sleep because of the street noise. Calle Atocha is a two way street and the cars were moving fast all night. We asked to change the room and quicky they changed to the room...

The hotel is situated near the Atocha train station so it is really easy to go to the airport via public transport (approx. 60 minutes). All the attractions can be reached on foot. If you do have a room in the back it is quiet - we slept pretty well. The hotel offers no breakfast but there are several panadarias...

I gave this hotel 4 because it is close to the museums (The reason I chose it) and its excellent customer service. The receptionists (Katie and Sandra) were warm, welcoming, charming and extremely helpful at all times. The room itself is very basic and small. The bathroom is open to the room so after a shower the room is hot...

Hotel is very near the Atocha train station, I stayed in a couple of nights in room 404 (what I believe is called a superior room yet it was still very small). This hotel earned an extra star from me simply based on its location - a 5-10 minute walk from atocha railstop and 2 minutes from closest metro, so it's very easy to access from the airport. Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
