We stayed for 3 nights and can recommend this hotel. It was central, 2 mins walk from Tirso Molina metro station and around 5 mins walk to many sights and restaurants. The staff were so friendly and helped us choose and book a flamenco show (even got a discount for booking via hotel !). The breakfast was very welcome in...

Great location , very nice staff. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic value. We had three rooms and we all liked it. Remember the star rating and enjoy accordingly. Walk to everywhere , lots of eating options within a couple of minutes, and a local feel. Oh, good shower too.

The hotel is in a great location, very clean and friendly staff that help you in any way they can. Rooms could do with a place to put you suitcase on instead of the floor. They also have a smoking terrace for the smokers, which was really handy.

We stayed here on a last-minute trip to Madrid. They upgraded us to a bigger room to celebrate my birthday when they noticed my passport date was during our stay! Great location. We never needed to cab or use the Metro except to and from the airport because everything was within walking distance. The room is decent sized, and the...

I traveled all across Spain this time around, various cities. I am comparing this hotel to those hotels. This was the only one I used in Madrid (3 times) so there may be better out there. I wouldn't know. This one is noisy as heck, as construction to the buildings next door started real early in the morning. Also both...

We stayed for 4 nights in November 2016. We asked for a quiet room at the back and were given room 305. We were aware that the back rooms have no view but the room has a lovely large window so was nice and light. If you prefer a view, I think the front rooms would be fine and not...

We had a fantastic stay at the Mayerling hotel. The location is great and very central to everything. The staff at the front desk could not be more helpful. The room is basic but has everything you need. A lovely hotel with informative staff.

Located in a great spot. Staff friendly, very competent. Breakfast is best deal around. Shower was great. Only complaint was people walking by in the street late at night were loud, goes with the territory.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Mayerling in Madrid last week. We highly recommend this place due to the following reasons: 1) The Staff - the folks at the front desk were amazing. They were always willing to help even to the point of assisting us with car service to the airport; 2) The Location - located in...

The Mayerling Hotel was recommended to us by our son who has used it a few times and we were not disappointed. The hotel is comtemporary, the room was a good size and very clean, the location was so central and only 5 minutes walk to Plaza Mayor and the reception staff were very friendly and so helpful. This will...

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
