nice hotel which has excellent dining. highly recommended the only problem on arrival we waited for a shuttle bus that never came. The hotel claims you need to call them this is rediculous as all other airport hotels have shuttles running without the need to call. The dining is superb at this hotel and especially the breakfast very high quality

Close to airport, steps from metro. A clean and modern hotel with shuttle service to the airport! Great breakfast buffet, and late night restaurant/ bar. In a suburban neighborhood so quiet it was perfect after long flight from the states.

The Hotel Maydrit is an excellent choice if you are doing a stopover in Madrid and you need a hotel close to the airport. With a free transfer service, good rooms and situated in a nice area we thought it an excellent reasonably priced hotel. We ate at a local tapas bar which was a fun intro to Spain.

We booked this property because of other reviews read on Trip Advisor. The hotel offers a free shuttle from the airport and is close to get on the metro to go into the city center. We found the room spaces and minimal with a large bathroom and newly appointed shower. As others have written, the walls are thin and you...

From its sparkling black granite floors, a delicious sea bass dinner and all one could ask for in a room, Mayrit more than delivered. Our shuttle was prompt, breakfast sumptuous and the staff pleasant and helpful. The most amazing room lighting we've ever encountered. Would stay in any of this chain's hotels in a heartbeat.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We chose it because it was 10 minutes from the airport and we didn't expect anything special. But it was!. Excellent modern hotel, really good spacious room very well fitted out. Hotel was modern, located in a park area, with excellent outdoor spaces to relax with a drink after a long day. It...

I'm very familiar with this hostal and pension....stayed with them on 3 different occasions, the last ones being this past mid-October and early November. Hostal Ivor is one floor below the reception/lobby of Pension Mayrit (it is not really a 'hotel', although all rooms have private bathrooms) and it is certainly the best value in the Sol area. Having lived...

We were in Madrid for 6 days and boy were we glad we chose the Mayrit. Located on a pedestrian mall just off the Plaza de Sol, we were able to walk to all the major sights within 30 min.. in spite of the central location our room was very quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful, suggesting places...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.

“I stayed for 7 nights in Hostal Ivor, which is one floor below reception. I preferred it because it's a little more private, quiet and super modern and clean with a strong signal to the wifi access.”
