This is a nice modern hotel room with decent views of Madrid. If that’s what you looking for it’s perfect. However I’ve marked the hotel down because it what they don’t tell you is that everything comes at an additional cost particularly the gym which I’ve never experienced at €10 per visit and to make things worse it’s a very basic small room “gym”. Moreover the lack of free facilities, the closed open air pool leaves a void of personality and charm ! The strategy to attract repeat clientele needs rethinking.
Just about everything was perfect at this hotel! I arrived by taxi, and the hotel staff immediately took care of my heavy luggage. Alexis (?) at the front desk was so friendly and kind, offering suggestions for places to see and tickets for the the nearby Royal Palace. Received a free room upgrade - a very nice gesture. When I am unable to speak the language of the country I am visiting, it's nice that the hotel staff speaks one of mine very well. They use an optional app (James&Rita) to help speed up the check-in and manage the stay. At my early morning check-out, when I was unable to take advantage of the prepaid breakfast in order to get the airport on time, they quickly put together a take-away breakfast while they organized a taxi - very much appreciated before a long flight. The morning before that, I was able to fully enjoy the very high quality breakfast food, expertly prepared. Loved the automated window treatments (controllable from multiple locations) which fully blocks out the light for that siesta or late morning sleep-in, the room lighting is also very flexible. I appreciated the window that opens for fresh air. Comfortable, high quality bed sheets. Great bluetooth speaker, lots of outlets (including some universal for international travelers). The bathroom with separate shower and bathtub (modern Japanese style?) in an enclosed area and button-controlled faucets was impeccably clean and modern. The iron in the room was a bit disappointing (or maybe my ironing skills are just lacking). The Ginkgo service was slow at night and they never delivered one item even after a reminder, but with the views to be had from the roof, slowness can be a good thing. The tapas at Ginkgo were fantastic. The location by Plaza de España (unfortunately currently undergoing some construction) at the western end of Gran Via is perfect for visitors to the city, near a metro station and, with nice open areas and parks nearby. I preferred this location over areas I stayed at in Centro. Finally, I would like to commend the housekeeping staff at this place, the room was so clean and fresh.…
Stayed here in December 2019 - requested a room on upper floors and they appointed a room on the top floor. The hotel is amazing! It’s modern, clean, amazing staff and the location is just perfect to get around Madrid. Cannot recommend it enough and will 100% return on my next visit to Madrid. Thank you to all the team for such a memorable stay.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Great location just a few steps from Grand Via where the main shopping street is. Good size room for European standard with 5 stars amenities in the room. Free minibar items except for liquor and it is replenished daily. The breakfast was also great with good spread. You can also order from the a la carte menu for those items not available on the buffet line. The rooftop restaurant has good view of surrounding areas and the food there is also good. Worth staying here if you are in Madrid.
I booked a room months in advance on booking.com but then canceled it. I received an email a few days before arrival that my stay was about to begin. I then replied to the hotel that I had canceled the booking on booking.com long time ago (thinking this mail was most likely a mistake), and there was no response, although I had asked for it. I was then charged a no show fee and suddenly I was told that there was a second reservation. When I asked why the hotel had not answered my email regarding the "wrong" booking, there was never any feedback, they didn't care. All in all a very questionable business practice, as the hotel hopes that the guests could forget something and then charge them.
