H Palacios is very handy and located off Gran Via. It's in the heart of Madrid and has easy access to everywhere. A clean room which was serviced everyday. Quiet as the balcony doors when shut close off any outside noise. The air con unit was really efficient and quiet. Bed was comfy and there was a flat screen TV.... More

We had two really good days there. The location is perfect, 2 minutes from Gran Via. However it is well-located, the noise from outside could be a bad thing for others, but for us it was okay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice amd clean, beds are comfortable. Our air-condition wasn't the best one, but the... More

I made a booking at Palacios hostal at the end of 2015 and it was a good experience. The location was great, very close from Gran Via and Puerta del Sol. I can still feel the vibes of the town because Palacios hostal is situated in the heart of it. The owners are a lovely family, very friendly and helpful.

Myself and two friends stayed here Jan 21 - 24th. This place was perfect, it is run by a lovely elderly couple which is a nice touch! The location could not be better! It is within walking distance to the majority of attractions, if you like shopping it is located on a shopping street that has nearly every shop you... More

The hostal is very near to everything, you don`t need to use the public transport to reach the main attractions. The room was clear, and was equipped with everything what we needed. The stuff did not speak english well, but we coud understand each other using a mix of english and spanish :)

Palacios is located in the heart of Madrid. Hostal is run by a lovely, elderly couple. It's nice and clean, however the rooms are pretty small and the walls thin, so you might hear your neighbours if they are noisy. Good wi fi connection, rooms cleaned ever day. If you need a place in the city centre for a relatively... More

We had a pleasant stay in this hostel for 3 nights in October 2014. The location is perfect -- with restaurants, shops, and Gran Via Metro station nearby. The hostel has an elevator. The reception is on the 2nd floor but the room are either on the 2nd or 3rd floor. ROOM: Has very strong wi-fi connection. No TV. It... More

The hostel location is great, right in the heart of Madrid. On the other hand the place continuously smells of food ( and not the good kind). One very hot Madrid night I asked for the air conditioning remote to turn it on in my room but the owner told me that air conditioning was only available during the summer.... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
