We stayed here for two nights at the end of our trip to Spain. Based on other reviews and our two previous hotels, we expected a little more. The room was clean and nice, but our view was disappointing. There is a nice bathroom, in-room safe, and turn down service. We also heard every footstep and door closing of nearby...

An urban oasis - lovely small hotel in a gorgeous shopping area with easy access to all the sites and galleries of Madrid. Generous sized, quiet rooms with attractive interior design. Truly excellent service - staff were incredibly helpful. Great breakfast too.

I had excellent service from the start to end of my trip. Very friendly and welcoming staff, going out of their way to ensure the stay was satisfactory, and able to provide excellent tips on where to visit in the city. Highly recommended!

My daughter and I have just spent a week at the Hotel Unico in Madrid. What a city. It was my first time in Madrid and I must say it is one of the great cities of the world. From the history to the culture to the friendship of the people, it is just a must do on any bucket...

We had 4 nights there and experienced great hospitality, great service, good food, in a nice room on a quiet street in a great area for shopping and restaurants and only a short cab ride to major museums and the old city. The concierge got us a great table at Quintin a characterful deli nearby where we had a great...

Normally, I avoid Relas & Chateaux hotels which for me signifies arrogant and pretentious service with a price quality ratio very poor. I think the restaurant is labelled R&C and not the hotel. Anyways, hotel situated in one of the nice quarters (equivalent of Mayfair) of Madrid. We had asked for a very quiet room and it was indeed a...

This boutique hotel is in In the hearth of salamanco district. Very modern and fancy. Particularly suitable for singles or couples. Rooms look a well equipped, bath pretty generous. Only minor negative, you can hear well any noise from corridor of the hotel in case someone arrives late.

This is the hotel I stayed twice. It's a safe choice for solo travel. Both of time I was very impressed by their service. The hotel is surround by fashion boutiques, many beautiful stores and restaurants within 10 minutes walking. The bedroom is a bit small (the standard bedroom and upgraded one) compared to same price level hotel, but the...

Loved our stay at the Unico. Easy walk to fabulous restaurants.. The staff at the hotel was wonderful - very helpful and incredibly friendly. There were lots of wonderful little touches - lots of places to plug in and charge our phones... Everything about the hotel was well thought out and comfortable..

Every time I travel to Unico I feel at home. Reception, concierge and drivers are very friendly and helpful; small gestures are also appreciated, offering coffee or drinks on arrival are an example. Breakfast has not got a huge variety of food but plenty of you don't expect to be overwhelmed; there are pastries, bread and jam, fruit, cereal, some...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
