I was in this hostel in February, traveling alone is a great place to meet people. The bad thing was that i didnt have a quiet cornet to speak with my GF and family on skype. Everywhere was loud music and the internet was unavailable in the rooms. Also the place was like a big factory, it reminded me of...

Actually nothing special with this hostel. It's a normal hostel as one expects it. No lift, only stairs so one has to carry the luggage. I stayed in 6-mixed dorm with strange arrangement of beds and lockers, number of the beds and lockers are not in the same place. Check-in time at 3.30PM, which is so late. The best thing...

Las Musas was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! I had booked a bed in a four bed dorm and was pleasantly surprised to find four single (not bunk beds) in the spacious room. There was an en-suite with a nice hot shower, a fan, air conditioning and lockers in the room (BYO padlock to avoid buying...

I really liked the location of the hostel. it's very close to center of Madrid. And the room was clean and I could meet various friends from various nations. But for me bad thing was wifi. It didn't work very well and sometimes it wasn't connected well.

Only stayed a night there but really liked it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are good although the beds could be a little more comfortable but since I only spent a night there and the price was good I can't complain! The location is simply great, in the heart of downtown Madrid and is very close...

I came here for three nights and I was surprised by how clean and nice it was for a hostel. I would reccomend it. The only downfalls for me were the breakfast in the morning (wasn't enough) and the fact that the wifi didn't work well in the lobby and not at all in the rooms.

A friendly and well organised place. Good value for money. Great location, 3 minute walk to Lidl supermarket, 5 mins from El Rastro and 2 mins from El Metro. Honestly couldn't fault it. Well done Las Musas, I will recommend you to all my friends!

I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Madrid. Staff were helpful, very handy location and my dorm had single beds instead of bunks which was a nice surprise. There was a large kitchen and common area. I had all the facilities I needed for my time in Madrid.

When I first arrived, the guys at reception were not the friendliest. They ignored me for over 5 minutes while talking to each other. Throughout my stay they were not that helpful. One of the girls was friendly and was more helpful. When I got to my room, there was long brown hairs on the bottom sheet and the pillow...

Staying in Lavapies

Neighbourhood Profile
Lavapies
Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighbourhood.
