Overall very good. Toilets and showers are basic and not ample, but it does the job! For the price I can't complain. I stayed in a mixed dorm and had no issues. Nice big lockers, beds readily made for you. I couldn't check in until 3:30pm but they were happy to look after my luggage whilst I roamed around Madrid...

By far the best booking I had in Madrid. I'm disappointed I didn't find Las Musas sooner. Slightly off the beaten path but with Plaza Tirso de Molina right around the corner you can navigate effectively from here. More than impressed with the polite, knowledgeable staff as I was unable to check in early they graciously allowed me to leave...

I went here twice within a year. Each time for one week. I'll always choose Las Musas again for my stay in Madrid. The Location is super central. I reached everything by foot. You've got everything you need here. Especially a kitchen you can cook and store food in. Plates etc are free to use. The people here are super...

I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights overall Las Muscas was fine apart from THE STAFF!! One male staff member made me and my friends very uncomfortable. This was because they were clearly talking about us to each other as they were staring and laughing to each other. This was very rude especially coming from a member of staff....

A good affordable place to stay in Madrid. If you don't need anything fancy but just looking for comfort look no further. Employees are really helpful and there is a buzzer at the door for you to get in at all times. Safe and centrally located

My friend and I stayed for just under two weeks before settling in to move to Madrid for a year, so it was a holiday and a professional trip. It was perfect for both and the staff helped make us feel at home instantly. The bar staff on the terrace, especially the wonderful couple (Helaine from Turkey and Rob from...

Good hostel, clean, nice staff. Don't depend on the free breakfast (packaged mini croissant and muffin). Kitchen is great. Good location. Wifi worked well. Rooms were comfortable and clean with AC and the bathrooms are decent. Rooftop was under construction so I can't speak to that. Overall happy with my stay.

I have just stayed at Las Musas for 5 nights. Feeling a bit queezy upon arrival (flight landed late, luggage was delayed, got to hotel about midnight), the staff were so friendly and gave me a coke and insisted on taking my luggage to my room. The room was clean with four beds and own bathroom. It got cleaned each...

Staying in Lavapies

Neighbourhood Profile
Lavapies
Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighbourhood.
