Nice private room with ensuite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Located in old city and convenient to cathedral. We were able to leave our bags early, before checking in so we could walk around the city unencumbered.

This is our 2nd year staying at Pension da Estrela. Fran, Estrella and Juan are so attentive and helpful. Laundry washed and folded, backpacks saved as we traveled and flexibility of reservation changes. The view out our window of the Church Plaza and the Cathedral at a distance makes us so happy from our window.

After our first night, we found six live bed bugs in two of our 3 beds, engorged with our blood, plus another half-dozen squashed bugs from us scratching our itches during the night. We decided not to stay the 2nd night we had booked. We offered to pay for one night, and the owner told us he could give us... More

For me it was a great location. The square was very nice and close to everything but quiet as well. There's a lovely restaurant just around the corner with a lovely garden/terrace. Which unfortunately I can't remember the name of. But it was the best menu del dia we had in the city. We didn't use the kitchen at all... More

Great place to stay and relax after the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compstela. Room and bathroom are very good, free wi-fi and a tv in the room. Breakfast is included but in a do-it-yourself system. The couple who owns the hotel are very friendly and helpful.

i was only here for three nights, the Manageress is very nice, it is in a great location, near the Cathedral and right in the middle of town, but the room is little small, and the bathroom is even smaller and it is a total nightmare having to lug your bags up a very narrow staircase to get to your... I was here for a work trip on a limited budget - this was suggested to me by local colleagues and I am so happy they did - it was a great place to stay for a few days. Estrela, the owner, is warm and welcoming and available to help until quite late in the day (though beware I don't... More

We stayed at the Pension at the end of our Camino Pilgrimage. It is very near the Cathedral and we had a Double rooms with an outstanding view of the Church plaza next to the building. We stayed in a private room with a Queen sized bed and a private bath. The room and bathroom were a tad small but... More

Our cozy room in this small hotel was located right outside the Plaza San Martino Pinario in the majestic city of Santiago de Compestela. Yes, the rooms are on the small side and it is on the 2nd floor (3rd for us Americans) with no elevator. However, the rooms are clean, the staff is delightful and the location cannot be... More

Santiago de Compostela, our destination on the Camino de Santiago, Sunday 1st of July 2012. What a nice surprise this “pension” rated only one star, but of a quality much above our best expectations for the price. Located on Plaza San Martin Pinario, with a superb view for the rooms looking to the street. You are in the very hart... More
