This was a nice, affordable, clean apartment/two bedroom w/bunk beds at a central location to the cruise port, bus, train and many other attractions. There was a balcony but nothing to look at but other apartments. This is a nice place for a family or friends stay. The staff was very helpful with getting around to so many attractions and...

On 3rd Sept Me, Wife & 18mth toddler arrived at hostal around 3.30am. Lucky we had only one night booked since we had a cruise to board on the same day. The small room had an awful smell of drain and full of mosquitoes. Air conditioning was hardly blowing cold air. Spent the night casing/killing mosquitoes. Did not manage to...

Stayed here with a friend late August this year. Our room was very small with a window that looked out into a dark court yard. Being in our mid 20's and sightseeing it was totally fine for somewhere to sleep, and shower. Our room was shared bathroom and every time we went to use it the bathroom was always free....

Staff: Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. Room: The room was small (like, prison cell small) but in good shape. It was satisfactory for the price, given the location. Location: Located close enough to major sites like Montjuïc, Las Ramblas and Barcelonetta that you can walk, but far enough away that you don't get subjected to the noise....

We recently stayed here and were really impressed, although on arrival they mixed up our rooms they quickly resolved. Rooms were cleaned everyday. More like a hotel than a hostal. Reception staff are very helpful, everything you would need is local. LA rambla is a 5 min walk.

I booked this hotel as my boyfriend and I wanted to see Barcelona on a budget so I wasn't expecting much judging from previous reviews. The location is great, walking distance to most things, la rambla, beach, harbour etc Staff were very helpful and friendly, gave us a map and advice on nearest metro stops (one a 5 min walk...

Had a two night stay, the rooms were clean to a certain extent. We had our own appartment. It was very run down though really needs an upgrade (electrics hanging out and some not even working at all). Overall if you are going with friends on budget I would suggest this place. If you are taking a partner on a...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
