Our expierence at this hotel was higher than expected. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. When we order dinner and drinks at the pool the waiter remembered us the rest of our trip. Our room was very spacious with a balcony that made you feel that you were truly experiencing the Spainish culture. The door to the balcony...

Room was nice. Hotel well located. I appreciated the fruit bowl in my room. The only comment is that the front desk staff was consistently unhelpful. They didn't try to assist you at all. We asked for restaurant nearby (they had no suggestions)....what hotel can't direct you to a restaurant? We asked a couple of other questions but we usually...

I booked direct on Catalonia Hotels website which advertises Welcome Drink and a free bottle of water for your room, free Wifi, didn't get a welcome smile let alone a drink. I requested an early check in for 11am, which I know is early, they said rooms would be ready for 2 pm, I got to check in at 4...

I found this hotel very average, certainly not 4 star. Our room was small and tired, perhaps we were unlucky, it was not as clean as it may have been, and considering the price I had paid for this room very disappointing. The reception staff were fine, breakfast is very good but expensive. And of course the location is excellent. Car...

I have just returned from a stay at Catalonia Ramblas, we stayed there for 5 nights and had booked the standard twin room without breakfast included. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to a superior room but the window didn't open, which I said was fine. It was only when we got to the room we...

I stayed at the Catalonia for several nights and was very impressed. The rooms are quite nice. Huge bathrooms with nice showers and a bath tub. Beds were quite comfortable and if you get a good room you can get a view of the pool or the street. I say get a pool view room and don't get a room...

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in the standard double room. Nice big clean rooms + location of the hotel is great. Swimming pool and spa part of the hotel( sauna - jacuzi) is including the price for room. Did not take the breakfast- for 19€ / one - we could find more interesting places in Barcelona to...

The Catalonia Ramblas is a very good hotel for business or pleasure. Rooms, food, and pool area are all outstanding. location also very good in being close to all major attractions, but still quiet at night. The only area that caused a small amount of fustration was the poor reception area...incredibly slow, intractable and busy!

Stayed here 3 nights, location is good for city centre. Had to sit for over an hour in the lobby on check in, as rooms were not ready (OK it was 1pm), but when I went back to the front desk at 2pm they had several... Room was OK, spacious but long and narrow. Decent soundproofing from the traffic noise....

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
