I stayed at Hostal Felipe II for 3 nights in March 2017. It was my first time in Barcelona and it worked out great. Hostal Felipe II is walking distance from several landmarks, like La Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera by the famous architect Gaudi, and Passeig de Gracia which is a big boulevard with lots of shops. The neighboring...

We stayed here for only one night. The location was great, but the hostel itself was a bit odd. Laid out over different floors and no kitchen. Our room had its own bathroom, but the smell from.the drain was so bad I really couldn't use it and used the common one instead. The room and bathroom was clean except for...

Please be warned that the photos of the rooms on the website are nowhere near what the rooms really look like - cameras with special lenses used to make the rooms look three times bigger etc. Please also be aware that a number of double rooms are basically single rooms with a double bed thrown in them with only one...

The location is great - a good base to visit all the main attractions in the city either on foot or using Barcelona's extensive public transport system. The hostal is situated in an amazing old building full of atmosphere. There are lots of places to eat right on the doorstep and plenty of small food shops close by. The in...

I stayed at Hostal Felipe II for 5 nights with 2 friends and it was a good base for us. The location is fantastic, close to the center, the Sagrada Familia and metro stations with links within Barcelona and further. Great affordable bars and restaurants with good Spanish classics are also near by. The hostal itself is very clean! I...

Property is not too far from the center, close to the Sagrada Familia, it's an old apsrtment building, the elevator is very old and is a bit frightening but once you get to the apartment everything is much newer inside, the walls had been fresh painted and the staff was very friendly and helpful, they give you a key for...

Everything was great-location, staff... Only 5 minutes walking from Sagrada Famillia and 10 minutes from the most glamorous street in Barcelona -Passeig de Grasia. One block from the hostel there is Carrfour Express. The place was clean, they cleaned our room on a daily bases and changed towels. I would recommend the place to anyone who wants to experience real...

I stayed in this hostel recently for 3 nights. It's about 800 mt from the Sagrada Familia. The prize is very cheap and rooms are very clean (towels are changed every day). The only disvantage is that not all the rooms have toilet so you have to share toilet with other people.

This was a great way to stay in Barcelona. A good hostel and a great location in the centre. If we come back to Barcelona we will stay with you again. We had a double room with balcony this was clean and tidy. The elevator was as great experience. The one out the James Bond movies

Forget the fresh looking photos on booking portals. The place is a sad sorry place. I had a room that was 1.5m by 2.5m but that makes it that I had a big TV given the size of the wall. True it is clean but the rooms and infrastructure is nowhere near the photos that are used.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

“First of all, make a call! Calls are treated better and faster! Second: you are coming to a city, which means no quiet nights if you have a room on the streetside. So talk about that in your call! Then... if you follow these two steps: you have a perfect stay. Enjoy!”
