Nice, friendly and clean small hotel. Rooms a little small but fine for a short break, we had a 3 night stay. No fridge in room disappointedly. I needed them to store medication in their main fridge as a result, this did this very willingly and always retrieved it for me when needed.7 Helpful and friendly manager. Small rooftop pool and atmospheric cocktail bar, open 12-11pm, nice to relax. We did have a problem with the air con in one of our rooms, we notified reception who immediacy sent a maintenance man to review the problem but unfortunately this was not fixed. So quite cool bars and eateries in close proximity for late night hunger and thirst! Family break with 15 and 18 year olds.

A small hotel with funky authenticity perfectly placed for exploring the gothic Quarter and Barceloneta area. Jaume metro is a 5 minute walk so very handy if you don't want to walk to other parts of the city. The street has every convenience shop you should need and a lovely bakery straight across the road with another amazing Patisserie close by . Plenty bars and restaurants very close by to choose from. I travelled with my 19yr old daughter for a 5 day city break and chose it deliberately because it had a cocktail sky bar and a small pool. There is a very funky vibe here with a young clientele . The cocktails are excellent, staff very friendly and the atmosphere is very chilled as there is a DJ playing most evenings, the music adds to the ambience and is not loud or overbearing . The hotel is a little tired in places , the bathrooms could do with a bit of an upgrade, however the rooms were very clean with daily maid service and fresh towels provided every day if required. Beds are reasonably comfortable, a good shower and air con that actually works , although a bit noisy on the full setting . There is a safe in the room but no fridge , which would have been very good to have. I wouldn't stay here again if coming with my husband but would definitely recommend it to younger people . There is quite a lot of street noise so if you are a light sleeper this place is not for you . My daughter wants to come back with her boyfriend so all in all a thumbs up from us .

We stayed for 4 nights in Hotel Ciutat de Barcelona and had an amazing time! The location is absolutely perfect, the area surrounding the hotel is lovely, with many bars and restaurants on your doorstep, and the hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms do need a little updating but it didn’t effect our visit at all, as the room was comfortable and clean. The rooftop was an excellent addition, with the pool area that we spent a lot of time around, relaxing and drinking their incredible cava sangria and cocktails! The bar/restaurant area was lovely too, serving the same excellent drinks and food. We can’t wait to return to Barcelona to go back to this hotel!

I have stayed here 5 times over the years. I really love it. We had lovely people on reception check us in. It completely depends on expectations I suppose and on the room you get. We have regularly had a corner room which means light on both sides of the room with two little balconies. Yes, it is noisy, but it is Barcelona. I live in London and I am used to the noise, but if you are from a quieter place, you will probably find this loud late at night. Not with clubs and music, just loud voices talking and rubbish collection and that sort of thing. The room itself that we had was big and spacious and the bathroom is a decent size too. There is wardrobe space and a table and chairs and a tv. It is perfect since we are not really in the room that much anyway. We got breakfast from a cafe over the road and ate it upstairs by the pool. It is a teeny pool with some sun loungers around it. It is a lovely space to catch some sun and you can see the Sagrada Familia from up there. There is a bar too and the staff are really friendly. The location is perfect. Buses are closeby, but it is a walk to Placa Catalunya, the beach and the park. There are loads of restaurants closeby. We really loved it. We will definitely stay again!

The best thing about this hotel is it’s location right near the Gothic Quarter. Quite a nice hotel at first impressions. Seems to have been recently renovated. Unfortunately the designers seem to have had no concept of the importance of functionality. Soundproofing is non existent. Traffic noise interferes with sleep. People talking at normal volume are heard clearly in the rooms. When the room next door closes the door, our bedroom wall vibrates! Bathroom looks nice but shower splashes the floor, toilet is awkwardly placed. There are no drawers in the wardrobes or next to the bed so if you’re staying more than the one night and would like to unpack, there’s nowhere to distribute your clothing apart from a minimal few clothes hangars Further, no minibar, no tea and coffee making facilities, nor any disposition to assist with alternatives. Would not even supply an ice bucket (so I bought the ice at a supermarket and used the garbage bin - ridiculous).

We needed a hotel near Barcelona airport as my mum was flying to Australia and I was escorting her before returning home. This hotel looked good on booking.com and had free shuttle bus which was why I chose. It was renovated last year so is like a brand new hotel. Rooms were really nice only criticism were the pillows I found too deep. But bed was really comfy. Had gin and tonic in the bar on evening of arrival it was very good. All the staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English. You can walk to the local residential area in 5 minutes were there are lots of local Spanish bars and restaurants. We had menu of the day at one it was delicious and only €15 per person. The is good small gym and lovely roof sun terrace. We didn't check out the pool. Would definitely recommend if you have up to 24 hours in transit.

Stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful time. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a single room and it was nice and cosy. Breakfast is OK, your usual continental one. If I come back to Barcelona, I won't hesitate to choose this hotel again. Very close to Gothic qtr, museums, beach, metro, food, etc. Nothing missing really.

We stayed for a long weekend in November. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist. The hotel is modern, clean and a great location in El Born. Plenty of restaurants and bars, right in the gothic quarter and about 15 mins from the ramblas. The bathroom had toiletries like soaps, shampoo, toothpaste & toothbrush which is great but we’d taken our own as we didn’t realise. The maid came everyday and freshened up room. Only thing I would say is the walls are thin and you can hear the rooms next door but it didn’t impact us as we are early risers anyway. The rooftop is nice there’s a small pool and plenty of seating, we bought some sangria and pizza the sat on the roof the one night. Would definitely stay again.

Large spacious room, very clean, large bathroom with lovely shower! Very big bed!! Only downside was a small window which looked out onto a small courtyard. We paid for breakfast a few days, it was plentiful, lots of choice and reasonable value for the money. Would definitely return.
