Spotlessly clean, heated/air condtioned, fairly modern comfortable rooms (if a little small) in an unbeatable central location that is within walking distance of most major sights. On the negative side there is no view & the noise level while not significant could be a problem for light sleepers. However, given the price & location it is pretty much a bargain...

Location just 1 minute from La Rambla. Right in the shopping district. Several eating places near by, for breakfast, lunch etc. Small hotell, everything is small, the elevator, the stairs and the rooms. We got at rom without no view at all - overlooking a mini backyard. Almost no daylight into our room at all. Not that we cared a...

La Rambla is a block away. The Boqueria is 5 minutes away. Barcelonetta is 15 minutes of leisurely walking. Plaza Catalunya is around the corner. Restaurants and shops are very close by. Bus and train stations are close by. The room we got is small but not cramped. Clean. Airy. Decent beds. Clean bed and bath linen. I wish the...

This hotel is located in a middle of a little street along La Rambla and very close to Catalunya metro station. It's close to everything for shopping, small cafes and day tour departure point which is usually at Plaza Catalunya. Staff were helpful and ready to help when we ask. It would have been great if they can provide a...

Well, no good service. Not very helpful. When I arrived, I got a small room without windows, there was no toilet paper, neither any water in the room. The breakfast wasn't eatable. The wifi was super slow.

Delightful hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded to a room with a private terrace. Even complimentary champagne. Location was perfect, close to airport bus pickup, tour offices, fast food restaurants, local cuisine, even a Hard Rock Cafe. Stayed 2 nights at end of September 2016.

It is my second stay in Hotel Catalunya. It has a great location, next to Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya. The room is clean and has a modern look. However, you can hear the shower running in the next door rooms. In case you ask for tea or coffee, you can buy it from the vending machine at the first...

This hotel used to be a lovely friendly place with a local appeal. Whilst the place is clean and fairly well maintained that is all it has to offer. You get nothing more than bedroom. No inhouse catering except for a drinks and snack machines which weren't working when I was there recently. A case of you get what you...

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
