We got an amazingly cheap deal on our room at wotif.com, otherwise would not have fit this into our budget! The large room was gorgeous, with beautiful furnishings, art and a great modern bathroom. (could not work out how to use massage setting in shower!) We had a view of the Sagrada Familia. Located on a long, busy street, there...

We arrived late the very day that Barcelona had received the worst flooding in recent history. The hotel had lost a complete floor of rooms and our room was gone. The staff at the Eurostar were very helpful and had already upgraded us and booked us at the Marina Hotel where we stayed the rest of our vist - at...

I couldn't fault the hotel at all. Ideally located for for l'Eixample, Sagrada and the old town. Hotel appears anonymous from the oustside but that belies the quality of the rooms, which i found first class. Didn't have a balcony but that didn't really matter. Room was modern, tastefully furnished (i have paid a lot more for rooms with far...

Wasn't quite sure what to expect but was more than pleasantly suprised!! Excellent location - 50 metres from Monumental station & Sagrada Familia around the corner and loads of local restaurants. Away from the touristy areas so safer and cleaner in my opinion Service - great, friendly english very well spoken Room - Excellent for the price booked for more...

Hotel a short walk to Sagrada Familia which was our main reason to visit Barcelona. The hotel receptionist was especially friendly & obliging, changing our room to a larger size on the 7th floor with Sagrada views. We liked that we could open the windows and have fresh air rather than sealed windows & air conditioning. Is on a busy...

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading so many Barcelona hotel reviews. Stayed one night here. Saw the Tour de France come right down the street from our hotel room. Very good location for seeing Sagrada Familia church. Too far from Las Ramblas and other tourists. Room was small, as most European rooms. A/C worked fine, room was clean...

It was pretty special having a view of the sagrada familia from our room especially when lit up at night. Don't let the location put you off, whilst not right in the centre of things it is walking distance to La Rambla and the old town, and of course it is right next to a subway if you prefer not...

Stayed here for 3 nights in the run up to Easter 09. Hotel staff are friendly (even the cleaners smile and say 'hola!'), helpful and efficient. The rooms are reasonably sized, well decorated and well maintained. We didn't have a bath in the ensuite, but the 7-nozzle shower made up for that! The rooms do face onto a pretty busy...

My son and me was in EGH for two nights in December. We had difficulty to find the hotel in the evening, as the hotel hasn't any neon signs outside. Receptionists was young and a not warm at all. Our room was very small; there was only one bed-table; no possibility to lock the bathroom door; only one small towel...

Location-wise I think this hotel is very conveniently located with a metro station just a few steps away. The Sagrada Familia is totally within walking distance (about 15 mins); alternatively it is only one station away if you take the metro. Also, it is a 10-minute taxi ride from Nord bus station which is where you take airport coaches to...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
