The hotel is located in a side alley of the Rambla, a 2-minute walk from Placa Catalunya. There were 4 of us traveling, two adults, a 13 year old and an 8 year old.
Casa Camper is in the initial area of Raval, an original neighborhood undergoing redevelopment. The alley can be crossed by cars but only one passes every now and then, so it is a non-traffic area, not elegant but quiet. The hotel has a nice and original layout. It is located in a completely renovated 19th century building with a dedicated and non-standard design. Maintains an authentic and friendly atmosphere. The rooms are large (we were in a King) with a double bed and also a very comfortable sofa bed. The bathroom is a "cutout" but still functional. The room is cleaned daily with towel change and evening cleaning. The fixtures are new and there is soundproofing but in any case the streets onto which the windows overlook are very quiet and not noisy. The hotel has a terrace, a billiard room with a bar and a small gym. It is oriented towards reducing waste and has an efficient model which is perhaps the reason for the non-exorbitant cost. So no plastic and breakfast, above average, has a small buffet and the rest is ordered à la carte (sweet and savory). Furthermore, included in the price, there is the possibility of drinks and snacks all day long (glass bottles of water, coca cola, fanta, tonic water, sandwiches, single portions of sweets). The staff is friendly and courteous. At check in the operation of the hotel and the area in which it is located is explained. Overall I recommend it for a high level experience but not one of a standard hotel chain.

I had high expectations of Hotel Casa Camper just from research and reading the reviews and it still exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped in at 7:30am jet lagged and expecting to drop our bags off and just hang in the lobby till our room was ready and was greeted by very friendly but professional front desk staff and told our room was ready. To be able to shower in a spacious and well-appointed room and plop into a very comfortable bed for a much needed nap was pure heaven. And from there it was all uphill. Very well-designed and thoughtful rooms, nicely sized with a separate lounge that came in so handy for privacy for phone calls or differences in body clocks. The hotel location was perfect and so convenient to everything within a 10-minute walk. The rooftop terrace and well stocked honesty bar - wow! My husband was so jealous when I sent him a photo of his favorites, Lagavulin 16 and Michter’s Straight Rye. The variety and quality of the 24/7 snacks and drinks and the daily breakfast - wow! The service and staff - wow! Everyone was attentive, professional, friendly and front desk staff made excellent recommendations of restaurants and a flamenco show. Thanks to Miriam, Paolo, Pol… really every employee was great. Sorry but I can’t remember all the names now. Wow, wow, wow! As seasoned travelers (who’s stayed in the luxury places like the Ritz, Four Seasons, Wynn Las Vegas, etc), my friend and I were blown away and tried to put our finger on what makes this place so special and we decided it’s the confident but understated luxury, the attentive staff, and then all the small but very thoughtful touches all around that made us feel like our every need and wants were fulfilled. The sights of Barcelona called to us, but we would’ve honestly been happy to hang out at the hotel longer. In fact, our last afternoon we just enjoyed the nice weather on the rooftop terrace with drinks and the views. We’re back home now and already so missing our favorite hotel. But I’ve already promised my husband his trip and hope to be back soon to Casa Camper. Can’t wait!

Positives: the rooms is huge! And clean. There are nice little touches like the slippers, robes and toiletries - shower gel, shampoo, handwash, conditioner and body lotion.
The complimentary snacks and drinks are great. However, the prices at the honestly bar are quite ridiculous.
Be aware the bar with the pool table is only open on certain days.

Not so positives:
Staff not so friendly - I emailed twice before our stay asking for help with restaurant recommendations - particularly as we arrived on Christmas Eve and we weren’t sure what would be open.
On both occasions the response was poor. The email wasn’t replied to with any care or even responding to the actual questions asked.
Breakfast staff were quite stroppy. Breakfast is served until 11:30 but everything was cleared away by 11:15 and I got an abrupt response when I asked for another coffee.
The sofa bed in the room is creaky.
Tbh for what we paid I think there are better places to stay. This place felt cold and impersonal.

Original and perfect concept! We liked everything:
- the central location that allows you to walk in all directions,
- The room very clean and well equipped with XXL bedding. We have used little the small living room but it must be appreciable when it is less beautiful.
- the silence!!! Very rare in hotels: no noise from the street or adjacent rooms.
- the view of the green wall and the shower with its 3 positions;-)
- the possibility to have free snacks and drinks during the day
- the well equipped rooftop and its magnificent view of a large part of the city
-but above all the quality of the reception by the staff of the Lobby. Thank you all and especially the young Swiss woman who answered our many questions with a smile and always had a little word for us. It changes everything to the quality of a hotel.
If I have to find a little flat:
the exorbitant price of breakfast (25 euros/person): prohibitive for us even if it must be of quality.
In short, I recommend with my eyes closed and if I return to Barcelona, it will be Casa Camper again.

We stayed at the Junior Garden Suite.
The sofa in the living room was turned into a side bed and I was glad to take a nap during the break. The main bed was fluffy and comfortable, and the shower was easy to use with water pressure.

The 24-hour snack I have been preparing on various blogs was not for 24 hours, but for snack time in the afternoon. Drinks seemed OK 24 hours a day, but it was hard to get them in the morning as there was a paid breakfast available.
I used it a few times for a late-night snack when I wasn't hungry, but the pita bread roll sandwich, salad were especially delicious!
I brazenly had more than one refill.

We arrived early on the day of our arrival, but at least they prepared our parents' room first, and we were grateful that we were ready to go.
I wasn't expecting a rooftop view either, but I was able to see Montjuic Hill and see the typical Spanish scenery.

The location is about a 5-minute walk from Plaza Catalunya?
The street in front of the hotel was a bit smelly. It may not be a very secure area. Some were sleeping on the street.
I think it's a good idea to get off and walk at the Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona by taxi.

On the last day I discovered there was a supermarket nearby and wished I had found it a little earlier. It looks like it's open until nine.

I will start with Miriam and Vlad, great customer service and helpful people. Always smiling. Our check in process was smooth and easy. They explained everything to us, showed us the room, how everything works in the room, to cafeteria and the amenities that the Hotel has. This was our last stop in Spain and our experience was absolutely amazing. Whichever staff we came across at the property was smiling, polite and ready to help. The breakfast was yum and snacks available 24hrs was a bonus. My teenagers loved it! Rooms are modern and created like we see in sci fi movies (like the hanging garden), automatic shutters. We didn't have time to shop at the shoe store Camper (you get a 10% discount coupon when you check in). The end of our trip was a memorable one - my teenage daughters played pool for the first time. They sucked at it when we started playing but by the end of it they were pro at it and asked to buy a pool table when we go back home to the US as they enjoyed it so much. Thank you Vlad for that and thank you to the lady working at the bar that evening. The terrace view and the little rain garden was so beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go to Casa Camper in Belgium. Please keep us posted on where your next Hotel will be coming.

The part that was inconvenient is having a cozy living room with a hammock, sofa and TV across the hall which myself and my husband never used. We had booked 2 rooms and I know for sure my 13 year old used their living room space and I am sure she used the hammock too. If we had known, I would have booked the suite in which the living area is attached with the room. Definitely next time. Now coming to the toilet. A hand bidet would be a great addition as the bidet in the shower area is inconvenient.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Casa Camper for 2 nights and absolutely loved it! The hotel is a very easy commute from the Barcelona airport, and located in a great location of the Gothic Quarter within walking distance to tons of local sites, restaurants, and shops. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable of the area, the front desk staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and try to accommodate any requests. We especially loved the hammock in our room & the beautiful bathroom that overlooked a private wall of plants. The complimentary snack & refreshment area is a great added perk, and the rooftop terrace overlooking the city with additional refreshments was very relaxing in the evening time and early mornings. We went on a cruise leaving out of Barcelona and stayed at Hotel Casa Camper prior to our departure - upon our return to Barcelona 7 days later, they were graciously able to accommodate holding our luggage for a few hours while we explored the city one last time before heading to the airport for our return flight home. This went above & beyond, thank you for a great stay to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary, and we would highly recommend staying here when experiencing the city of Barcelona!

The service from everyone in the hotel, from the front desk, to the kitchen, to the cleaning staff was extraordinary. We have visited Barcelona often and have stayed at various locations in Barrio Gotico, El Born, and Barceloneta, never repeating the same location twice. After our great stay in Casa Camper, we will never stay anywhere else. Although the stay is not inexpensive, it is extremely reasonable considering that the made-to-order breakfast is free and a wide variety of sandwiches, fruit, non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks are available without charge the rest of the day.

The location is great, a few minutes off Las Ramblas in El Raval, not far from the Plaza de Catalunya, and a fairly easy walk to the beach.

There is a good reason that the name of the hotel is Casa Camper because the staff will make you feel truly at home.

We just finished our stay at casa camper. My girlfriend and I both really enjoyed it.

We arrived on a Saturday after a long international flight from the US. Check in was very helpful and were able to get us into our room before check in time. The front desk person escorted us to our room and explained things. The room is comfortable and very functional. We loved having a copious amount of hooks to hang stuff on. The bed was very comfortable and the shower has excellent pressure and good hot water. Air conditioning in the room was exceptional. Everything was clean and in order. House keeping comes and cleans once a day and does a nightly turn down service. The room type that we rented had a “Bonus Room” it was across the hall from our normal room and contained a chair, a couch, a hammock and access to the balcony. This was a great place to relax and store luggage.

The hotel has a cocktail bar with a very talented bartender in the basement. It also has an honor bar on the roof. We used the honor bar several times. It is a nice place to relax and have a few pre dinner drinks. It also has an ice maker with plenty of ice which is hard to find anywhere I have been in Europe.

During the day the downstairs dining area has snacks and refreshments. This is nice if you just need a stack to keep you going until the late dinners. Also nice to have a Coke/coffee when you want. The have a large machine that you can fill water bottles with cold filtered water as well.

All in all. I really enjoyed it. It’s well maintained and seems very well managed. I would definitely stay again.

My husband and I love Casa Camper, but we had a negative experience on this trip at checkout. We are usual customers, always recommend it to our friends, and cannot speak more highly of this hotel. Top notch service, well thought out accommodations. Amazing breakfast, location, staff (99% of the time) and rooms. On this trip, we were blown away by the incredible kindness and thoughtfulness of the breakfast manager Daniel. His hospitality was superb. We had two of the suites for our group, which were lovely. We, however, had one very disappointing & daunting experience at the hotel on checkout, which was unusual and really rattled us. At breakfast, I was scolded and harassed by a front desk staff member, Enzo. By way of context, we added two additional rooms for another night, but accidentally omitted the breakfast on the booking. It was our checkout morning, and my husband sat down at the breakfast table and ordered coffee and Enzo called me up to the desk to me know that it would 75 Euros for the 3 of us to have breakfast added to our stay. I thought we had breakfast included, but appreciated it was not on the booking and advised him that we didn’t really need breakfast (just coffee) because we were leaving shortly, and he sternly advised me that it was too late, that we had to pay because my husband already sat down at a table. I explained that we didn’t even order food only ordered a coffee, and that our daughter hadn’t even come down yet to join us he said that didn’t matter because my husband already sat down. Then he explained we need to pay for our rooms if we are checking out now and he showed me the invoice and I advised him that we had prepaid for one of the rooms and it needed to be reflected in the invoice. He unequivocally asserted in a brute like manner that I was mistaken that nothing had been pre-paid. I had to find the email evidencing confirmation of payment showing him that we had in fact prepaid and he clearly was agitated that he was wrong. At this point I was in tears because his rigid brute rude behavior was just too much for me at that early hour before I had coffee, and a colleague of his whispered something in his ear and he said he would review everything and get back to me. At this point, I was so rattled and left. My husband later went to settle up and everything was fine and he indicated that Enzo had completely changed his demeanor and was as pleasant as could be. In view of Enzo’s drastic change of demeanor, my husband thought that Enzo was misogynistic, had a talking too, or suffers from severe cognitive rigidity. Not the best way to end our stay, but we won’t let it taint our adoration for this hotel.

We've stayed at the Casa Camper and have also done Airbnbs in that same neighborhood (as we currently are). That part of Barcelona is actually pretty safe. As you walk down Las Ramblas toward the beach, that's where it can get a little sketchier with pickpockets or worse as you get down toward the Gothic quarter and the southern part of the Raval neighborhood, as well as Barceloneta by the beach. But where the Casa Camper hotel is located at the top end of Las Ramblas kind of near the north end of Raval and near L'Eixample is much safer -- especially if you walk north from there toward the higher-end shops and restaurants.
