I stayed for two nights in February. The hostel is in a good location for exploring Barcelona, with most of the main areas/attractions accessible on foot. The rooms are small, but they were clean and served our needs well while we were there. Breakfast was better than in other hostels I've stayed in with a range of hoot and cold food served as a buffet, so you can have as much as you want. A real plus are the staff, who were all excellent....very friendly and helpful. It functioned as a good base for our party of students and I'd use it again in the future.

This place might have been awesome when it was new, but the overall atmosphere is everything is somewhat old & worn out. They do try to keep the place clean (even sanitize the toilet) though, but the overall atmosphere is kept dark because of the dim lighting... more appropriate for a pub or tavern than a hostel. Some of the rooms lack ventilation.

Good location situated between 2 metro stations Urgell and Universitat.

Overall just OK.

The room was cleaned every day, but a little bit small for 4 persons. Breakfast was okay. The hostel is located close to the shops, bars,.. was nice for us students! The staff was very friendly. Downstairs, in the 'basement' they have a pool table, a little kitchen, a tv,.. so we were never bored :) oh, and the rooftop terrace gave us a nice view!

Not even worthy of a star! I booked for my partner and I to visit Barcelona, we travel at least 3-4 times a year and have stayed in hotels, b&bs, air bnbs all over the world and not naive in the reflection of price pays for what you get, But this place was something else!!
The only thing that this hostel has going for it is the location, we walked everywhere and there is easy metro points, bus routes and amazing gem restaurants within short walking distances.
Do not take any notice of the photographs, like a good photoshop of an insta model the place is nothing like what it portrays. The hip vibe that it portrays itself as is long gone if it ever was there!
The rooms had rules, padlocked bay windows with broken air conditioning units as if this was not bad enough the smell of a cheap fried chicken stall over took the room and seaped into our clothes and the bedding like flies on poop. This was coming through the drains, could not be stopped and literally gag worthy!
The ‘terrace’ was not open and the ‘chill out zone’ with the snooker table covered like a murder scene and no sign of the table tennis??
There was the offer of two free drinks on arrival, however we were then told that the ‘bar’ wouldn’t be open till Wednesday evening, our last night, however after seeing the state of the offerings of breakfast which was only €4.50 I don’t think I would even sip the ale through a straw never mind drink from the glass it was served in. (The only people we saw eat the buffet style offering were staff members)
The rules on the back of the door stated to be quiet after 11:30 pm but yet the location of the place is always noisy, which is fine but don’t portray to promote quiet time when your own staff drink and run up and down the corridors with other guests!
The cleanliness well the photos speak for themselves, mould, unwashed bedding, scum around the ceiling and floors, never mind the bathroom timed light which turns off if your having a long pee so literally peeing in the dark!
The shower is also timed, don’t even bother trying to relax, it was a game of multi task one hand on the button to keep the water on and the other trying to wash your bits!
Ooo just thought of a positive, the staff did print tickets for us and the vending machine did a small but good coffee for 80c.
My fella now has a one up on me for booking the worst location ever! Fingers crossed love holidays will take down this as a choice of accommodation so others don’t book!

Dingy and dark rooms with no actual light on the ceiling just lamps in the beds, bathrooms are gross with only an overhead shower (as a woman I hate them). THERE IS NO AIR CON. Do not be fooled, the rooms are sweaty and clammy. They are lying on their website/Hostelworld because there is not a single aircon in the whole place. Beds are uncomfortable and you stick to the sheets. Overpriced for what you get which is basically nothing.

Also, the rooftop is literally just a patch of fake grass and a tiny jacuzzi. And the lift only goes up and not down, which is a massive pain for when you’re trying to get your suitcase down the narrow stairs, especially if you’re on the 5th floor.

Urbany Go please GO. Dirty.Grubby. Ew. We stayed for 3 days and wanted to leave after the first 5 minutes in the room. Dust and hairballs left on and under the mattress along with left over food wrappers from previous guests. The air con sounded like a screaming child, if you actually want to sleep don’t go here. Everything is timed. A timed shower that lasts 10 seconds and timed lights that stay on for what seemed like hours. The room, TINY the beds, BROCKEN. Loose screws from the drop down table on the bed and an unsteady ladder to the top bunks. But this wasn’t the worst. The worst was the gross stains on both the sheets provided. I still don’t know what they were but brown and reddish stains along with hairs that were NOT mine were on the “freshly cleaned” blankets. I decided to freeze at night rather than getting rabies from those sheets. No thank you. I wish the best for whoever chooses to stay here please make a fun YouTube video out of it. I’d watch it!!!!
Ps. Don’t take the lift.

The photos of Urbany Hostel show a clean, vibrant hostel with an outdoor hot tub...the reality is that this place is dirty, sleazy and the hot tub is a cold, disgusting paddling pool on a dusty underused roof terrace. Upon entering the hostel we were treated with a lukewarm reception (Slightly warmer than the water of the outside tub) by staff who were not particularly interested in making us feel welcome. The corridors in the building flicker with neon and cleaning products are left out in the hallways assumingly unused. The walls of our rooms were grubby, the shower dribbled and spluttered and the mattresses were covered in hair and dark stains.

I understand that this is a 'party' hostel and not a 5 star hotel but certain standards must be met. Yes, this place is in a perfect location for visitors to Barcelona but if you, personally, have any hygiene standards or a desire to use a lovely rooftop hot tub then I implore you to stay away.

Awful.

We came as a group of 8 friends for a few nights in Barcelona. When we arrived the floor of our room was flooded with water from the plumbing underneath the shower. The staff member who showed us this room, on having this pointed out to her, merely got a towel and mopped up what could be seen to be very dirty water. We then went into the bathroom. This was quite simply filthy. The metal sinks were filled with dust and dirt and streaked with old watermarks up the sides. The toilet had black marks and smelled awful. We were extremely disappointed when we were told there was no cleaner and we would have to put up with this until the next day. We then asked to be moved room and were extremely disappointed to find that we would be split up and that only one of the rooms we would be placed in would have a working shower. The staff were helpful enough giving us free breakfast and drinks at the bar however we should never have been placed in this room in the first place. The room looked nothing like the images online and did not even have a window. To top it all off the thermostat was broken meaning the room was constantly freezing. Would not recommend anyone to stay here. Very disappointed considering the price paid.

First time ever staying in a hostel and safe to say I won't ever be staying in one again. I should have gone with my gut feeling! Room was absolutely tiny barely enough room to move past a person inbetween the two bunk beds, the lights were dim neon like some kind of seedy Amsterdam bar. We asked to store our luggage away to check in later and we were just sent off with a key to the luggage room which anyone can access/take what they like. We unfortunately had lost both our debit cards and a phone and couldn't withdraw cash as the only card I had was a credit card. They insisted we had to put a cash deposit down to get a locker. We said we couldn't and offered passports/house keys instead but they said no. What were we meant to do? In the end I got so fed up I went and got the cash out and incurred massive withdrawal fees just for a locker for one night. To top it all off in the morning I woke up with bites, so safe to say I shall never be staying in a hostel again!

rooms were beyond tiny and we dirty. bar was useless as well, they made you use a computer to buy drinks which was completely pointless as you just had to explain it all over again to the bartender. showers were dirty and you had to keep pressing a button every 5 seconds to keep them on.
