How did everything begin? The Austrian Juergen Hutterer and the Catalan Miquel Prat started thinking of creating Mihlton Barcelona in 2012, and one year later, in 2013, they inaugurated its seven suites in Rossello Street, 231. Its emblematic location and the building's beauty made its owners think about this space like a sum of modernity, smartness, comfortability and sweet family atmosphere. The Mihlton Barcelona team: Mihlton Barcelona is a young company, family-like and profesional. The Austrian hotel philosophy leads the company. Juergen Hutterer is in charge of revising the day-by-day of the Mihlton Barcelona. The services offered at Mihlton Barcelona: Where can I have dinner? Where can I go for a drink? What can I do in my spare time? Where can I get tickets for a show or a theatre play? All doubts from our guests are solved at Mihlton Barcelona. Its qualified staff can help you with any request you have about the city of Barcelona. Our guests are also offered a touristic guide service. What we would like: Come as a guest and leave as a friend.

This B and B is just fantastic! The rooms are lovely, showers hot and powerful, breakfast excellent and a great roof terrace to eat out on if weather good! The location is excellent with easy access to a metro stop and walkable to most tourist destinations. Highly recommend!

We were due to stay for 4 days for my husbands 30th birthday, this had been booked for 8 months is advance. A week before our stay I begin getting emails stating my card is “invalid” and to update my card details which I did. However I kept getting emails stating card still invalid and then they cancelled my booking. Now we all have online banking, I was able to check in real time that my card was valid and had more than sufficient funds to cover our stay, also bare in mind this was a “pay at property” hotel so why they were trying to access my account prior I do not know. So 3 days before our flight, myself and my husband are now desperately trying to find somewhere to stay!! Hotel had clearly overbooked themselves and used any excuse to cancel some bookings. When ringing, only greeted by automated message, and email address on their website is a fake. I have tried contacting them by every means possible, seems no one is home? By all means book with this hotel, but beware your stay is not guaranteed!

The area is perfect. Lots to do but not many tourists. Near anything you need including metro and food. The rooms are cozy and clean. Breakfast is wonderful. The staff is wonderful. Absolutely best hotel staff I have ever met and I've been to 11 countries. I loved this place.

Great hotel for price and location, helpful staff and clean. The hotel is a few minutes from Diagonal metro and east to walk to most tourist attractions and nice places to go out day and night. The room was spacious and super quiet. The staff was available whenever and share easy instructions for a late checkin.

Jorge made our experience in the Mihlton very personal and pleasant. When we come back to Barcelona for sure we will go again here. The breakfast and service from Jorge was beyond expectations even due to COVID restrictions. Transfer via the Airport was well arranged by the Mihlton.

I'm really glad we chose Mihlton for our 5 day stay in Barcelona. The room was perfect for my daughter and myself, the shower room was sparkling clean. Loved waking up to the breakfast spread. It was delicious. Jorge in reception was great, every day giving the best advise of where we should go and what to see, and the surprise for my daughter's Birthday was a super plus together with early breakfast before check-out. Mihlton, Jorge and all the others (sorry I didn't get your names) keep up the excellent work that you're doing 👌🇪🇸👍 Will definitely be back 🇪🇸

Jorge is a 10 out of 5, and was one of our best hosts ever; anywhere in the world. They serve free white and red wine from 4-7ish at the hotel reception area. Grab a glass of wine and head to the hotel rooftop where there is a bunch of seating and some tables. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was very good and filling. Hard boiled egg, baguette with jams, cheeses, prosciutto ham, Canadian bacon, yogurt, fresh cold oj. Very good, and very filling. Free coffee and hot chocolate was a lovely perk. Bed and pillow were a 4. Good hot water. Lovely place.

I had a 4 night stay at the Mihlton. My room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There were also two armchairs with a small table. Lighting was very good indeed and the air conditioning was fine and simple to use. The shower was a little awkward - there was a quite high step up to a tiled area with access partially obstructed by a wall radiator, then a 90 degree turn into the shower. To get out of the shower it was necessary to negotiate standing on the tiled area with wet feet and then make a reverse 90 degree turn to step down to the floor whilst avoiding the radiator. I used the bath mat on the tiled area to reduce the risk of slipping. I did not raise this with the hotel as there was nothing they could do about it in the room I was in and I had found a workable solution. There was also no shower caddy or anywhere else to put your own shower gel and shampoo in the shower. So your had to put them on the floor on the tiled area behind you and turn around and bend down to get them. There was push button gel and shampoo from the hotel behind you, but I prefer using my own. The shower also had a raised cap above its drainage hole that I knocked off the first time I used it and then always felt the need to watch my footing thereafter as it was easy to knock and so I was never quite relaxed when showering. The written instructions with the safe were wrong but the hotel assisted me with this and helped me again when I forgot my code later in my stay. I had a nice view of the patio and all the surrounding buildings in the square. I am vegetarian and the breakfast offered a good and healthy range of food - such as cereals, tortilla, beans, peppers, almonds, olives, capers (really nice ones), cheeses, bread, crackers, jams, tomatoes, yoghurt, melon, pineapple and cake. I am not keen on machine coffee and prefer a cafetiere or pot, but the machine coffee was adequate. The hotel is well positioned for the metro, however because there are multiple Metro exits and I am not good with grid systems I did not fully get the hang of finding the hotel quickly when returning to the hotel in the 4 days I was there. I found the hotel staff very friendly, polite and helpful. Passport handling: I have just moved to another hotel in Barcelona as Mihlton is closed for Christmas. I am at Acta Antibes. On arrival at the Antibes the receptionist asked for my passport. She kept it on the counter so that I could see it at all times. She said that it is illegal to copy guests' passports under Data Protection Regulations but that they take details from the passport which they have to send to the Spanish Police every night. She noted the details and returned my passport to me immediately. In the light of this I am now very concerned at what happened with my passport at the Mihlton. On arrival at Mihlton I was asked for my passport. I was not told that it is illegal to take copies of guests' passports. I was told it was being taken to make a copy (which at the time I assumed was in accordance with Spanish law). I was not given an option of no copy being made and just the details taken down. When my passport was taken at Milton some small doors were opened behind reception, my passport was put in a printer and the small doors were closed. I could not see what was behind the printer and the passport was now out of my sight. It remained out of my sight throughout the whole check in procedure, which involved payment of local taxes, information about the hotel, the wi-fi, breakfast, check out and so on. After all this an offer was made to show me my room. I was not given my passport back and I had to request it. I was told that it takes some time to make a copy and was then given it back. I have twice been the victim of identity theft. It is not the end of the world, but it is extremely inconvenient, frustrating and an intrusion into privacy. I therefore take data protection very seriously. Mihlton may well respond that they just take a copy to take down the details and then destroy it. But I will never know for sure that they have not retained a copy of my passport and I am concerned that they did not explain the law to me as Antibes have just done and I am troubled now at the way the passport was taken out of my sight and that I had to ask for it back. It is also not clear to me if the copy they took was paper or digital. If they had explained the law to me and asked for my permission to make any sort of copy I would have refused and asked them to take down the details with the passport in my sight and give it straight back to me, as Antibes have just done. I am a great believer in people being informed of their rights and responsibilities and I feel that Mihlton failed me. I regret that the way that Mihlton dealt with my passport, given what I now know from Antibes and assuming Antibes are correct, has cast a cloud over my impression of their hotel and left me concerned about my passport data. I regret that this means that I cannot recommend Mihlton on Tripadvisor.

Located in the luxurious and beautiful Eixample neighborhood, the hotel is surrounded by fashionable restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, and has great access to public transit. It's an incredible deal price-wise too, though much like Premium Economy on a flight, you have to be willing to sacrifice some elements you don't normally realize you're paying for in a more expensive property. I checked in very late after a late night flight with no problem - the managers kindly send you a video over Whatsapp with perfect, room-specific instructions. My room was /perfect/ for me - almost Marie Kondo in its functional minimalism, with every space used wisely and with nothing wasted. The only issue was that the AC unit appeared to have a black mold problem, and there was a pervasive mold smell in the room. The hotel said they would do what they could to address the issue, but unfortunately housekeeping was unable to resolve it, so the managers moved me to a much, much larger and more ornate room on the entry floor of the hotel. The second room - a three-bed room - was stunning, with a beautiful balcony looking out onto the lovely street, a huge, modern bathroom and shower, and incredible original detail work on the ceilings. The drawback in this room was that here, you could feel the rumble of the subway beneath the building, and hear the street noise - which from other reviewers I gather is somewhat intense over the weekend. But the price! This is a hotel that has so many nice elements to it that I, personally, was willing to foresake perfect quiet and perfect smell for the deep discount offered, but other travelers might reasonably decide that they would rather pay more for a hotel with less noise or a guarantee of a mold-free room. (Note, the hotel in general was immaculately clean, it was just this one AC unit that seemed to be the problem!) Both the decoration and the daily included breakfast were also thoughtful, stylish, and showed that the managers had put a lot of thought into where they could compromise on price to keep room rates low, but were still willing to invest where it would matter to the guest experience. For example, a lot of the furnishings were from IKEA, but the things at IKEA are well designed, even if inexpensive. The breakfasts had a mix of chic and shabby, with a really impressive cheese selection, daily Spanish tortilla, and an impressive selection of pickles, charcuterie and cornichons that I don't normally see outside of five star hotels; it also had machine cappuccino, low-grade yogurt and croissants that were the texture of crusty bread rolls. /And I wouldn't have chosen to spend $20 more per night to upgrade the croissants, cheese, or cappuccino./ That's to say, I think the managers did an excellent job of choosing where to invest money and where to hold back. Again, at this price point, you're going to have to expect some level of sacrifices to be made, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My visit at Mihlton Barcelona was wonderful. Roberto and Jorge were so incredibly helpful and friendly. They are an invaluable asset to the hotel. Thank you. Jorge even printed me out a map to show me how to get to bus stop to go to the beach. I can’t say enough about these two guys. The beds were extremely comfortable and I got good rest here. It was also peaceful and quiet. There was an espresso/coffee machine available for free 24 hours a day. I loved it! Each morning I would sit on the terrace and have my cappuccino. It also made steamed milk and hot chocolate. This is an awesome perk! There was also free wine until 7:00 pm each night. This was a nice plus. After exploring all day it was nice to have a glass of wine before heading out again for the evening. The wine was delicious as well. The hotel was very centrally located. It was very close to the metro Diagonal. In addition, Gaudi’s La Pedrera was right around the corner! Then walk down the street a little bit more and you are at Gaudi’s Casa Batlló. So great. It was also close to La Sagrada Família and Park Guell just a short metro ride. Also I went to the beach via the bus. Great location. There is also a beautiful old elevator in the building. It is so attractive. I posted pics on my Facebook page and my friends loved it. It was encased in a decorative metal cage. I felt safe and secure as there was a passcode to get both into the building and then into the hotel area. I would also like to mention that the cleaning staff was great! Thank you.
