We've stayed at the Banys a number of times and have very happy memories here. It's a superb location in what I consider to be one of the prime locations in the city. Marta and the team at Reception are very helpful and the restaurant is fabulous. Breakfast is great but pricey. The hotel could do with double glazing the...

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Large room, comfy bed. Bring ear plugs if sensitive to city noise. The rooms are clean and stylish, but could do with a coat of paint. I would stay here again.

This hotel is located in a very strategic position in the city, close to all the interesting places. It shares a space with a very busy (and excellent) restaurant. The only downside is that you have a noise coming from the restaurant/street because it's really in the middle of Barcelona's busiest area. Breakfast is nice but not worth 11 euros...

Hotel staff are very nice. Especially when we booked for 4 nights and asked to check out after 1 night. Room very small and old we were at 4th floor. Was noisy all night. Not clean. Breakfast was ok. Wifi is good. But in general we decided for same rate to get a different hotel (1898) where the room was...

Beautiful to look at and beautifully positioned, this gem in El Born amazes me for not being double the price. We had a beautiful room with four poster, slap bang in the best, buzziest part of town (alive with culture and fab restaurants - not noisy bars and clubs) for €200 euros for two nights. Great breakfast (€14) of local...

The Banys is a Boutique Hotel in the Old City - well located but at some times over prized - particular during fairs the price goes up by factor 3 meaning a room - already well paid with 100 € is charged 300 €. A bit greedy, isn't it ? And of course it's not getting any cleaner or less...

Dear schobbepetzer123, Thank you very much for sharing your opinion. We are very sorry you found our prices too high compared to your budget. We are quite sure that you are referring to the rates we have for the Mobile World Congress. On those dates, there are only a few rooms available in the city of Barcelona and sorroundings. That...

We've stayed at Hotel Banys Orientals several times and enjoyed it every time. Great location in the Born, excellent Catalan restaurant. Very helpful staff! The only reason I didn't rate this excellent is because some of the rooms are small, some have a step or two up into the bathroom, which can be a bit disconcerting at night. Otherwise, everything...

This room was booked for my parents. It had just been refurbished for the disabled, it was very comfortable. The staff were fantastic and friendly. It is in a lovely spot in Barcelona lots of cafes and market stalls and bars close by.

This is my second time staying at the hotel and I have always had a superb experience here. The breakfast was delicious, the beds were very comfortable, but most of all the staff is extremely helpful and dedicated to ensuring that their guests have an enjoyable stay. They truly go out of their way to make a fantastic dinner reservation,...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
