The hostel is located 15 mins walking from Placa Catalunya and around 5 mins away from Psg de Gracia and Gaudi's famous buildings. There are lot of nice restaurants and cafes nearby and a number of grocery shops. The staff were really nice and helpful and spoke really good English. The reception was open 24/7 which was a huge advantage....

We were here during a 5 day sightseeing tour. The hotel is loacated in an old house in the middle of the city. The elevator is scary first but it is cool after that. The rooms are separated with slim walls, but Its not problem because I couldnt hear the neighbors. The room had coolig and heating as well, the...

It's a very neat and tidy place to stay in BCN. Very clean rooms, great location and great service. I have nothing to complain about. If you rent a private room for 2 persons it is better to stay in a room with a bathroom and shower, otherwise you will have to share bathroom with another room like I did.

Stayed here for a long weekend with my gf. It was good value for money (location, cleaniness, room, staff). Man called Alvin at the reception was really helpful with everything. Grocery store 50m away + metro and bus also close. Only downside is AC which is not possible to adjust or turn off. Therefore I rate this place 1 point...

Awesome location, cheap hostal, very helpful and friendly staff. Wifi worked really well the whole stay. Only downfalls was the shower wasn't very good, shared hot water. Also room walls very thin could hear neighbours.

At the beginning, the hotel seemed reasonable. However, we had to share the bathroom with another couple, who took ages when they used the shower. Also, we had an incident with a man that lives there In the attic. He was incredibly rude to me and made us feel really uncomfortable. If you want to have a good holiday in...

Hostel Martinval is centrally located, approximately a 10 minute walk from Passieg de Gràcia station. I emailed the Hostal before my arrival for advice on travelling from the airport and received a prompt reply listing various options. I ultimately choose to travel by train, purchasing a T-10 ticket which I found to be economical and simple (the ticket can be...

"Flat screen TV in every room" sounded great .. till we found out that not one of the over 50 channels was in English. "Triple room with a bathroom" - didn't mention that we had to share it with some Asians who flooded the place every time they used it. I am a positive person generally but many things here...

Stayed at Hostal Martinval in December for 3 nights in 3 person room with private bathroom for a girls break away to do some Xmas shopping. I wouldn't really call this a hostal as it's more like a budget hotel. Checked in early with no problems at 12 o'clock with a lovely helpful receptionist who showed us the way up...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
