This pension was a surprise to me. I didn't really know what to expect, but I absolutley enjoyed my stay here. The location is great - only a five minute walk to la ramblas, and El barrio Gotíc starts across the street. The staff is very friendly and avaliable 24/7. The shared bathrooms are always super clean, and so were...

At the price they offer, the place is really good. The staff is very friendly and the bathrooms are super clean, just as the rooms. You can also use the kitchen if you need a tea or to use the refrigerator. The only downside was the fact that you could hear pretty much everything others talked in the other rooms,...

One word to describe this place: clean. Not something you'd expect from the price or location, but they really do keep the establishment spotless, including the sleeping quarters, the showers, and the toilets. Everything was in perfect working condition, the shower had good water pressure, and the sheets smelled of detergent. They are a bit strict on the rules (e.g....

First impression of the entrance and the door was scary , many homeless at the front of the building , the stair to go to the hotel is dark and circle style ,if you got very heavy luggage get ready for it , you have to ring the bell everytime you want to enter . I think the owner is...

For many years we have visited Barcelona and alway gone for a big 4/5 * hotel, only to spend the absolute minimum of time in them at a high cost. So this time we decided to go Cheap, we only needed a place to sleep. I read the reviews and was a little concerned but not enough to put me...

I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2015. I seriously considered cancelling based on the bad reviews on TA. Bottom line: 1. I am glad I didn't cancel. 2. Great location, ultra clean, friendly employees, crazily cheap. Weird signs and obsession with cleanliness, sure. Is that such a bad thing? And yeah, don't stay here if you can't deal...

We were 2 20 year old girls who were looking for a cheap, nice hostel for a relaxing break. Firstly the location of this hostel was perfect. We were in walking short easy distance of everything, including the gothic quarter, beach, marina, main roads and supermarkets. The hostel seems very safe as you need a key for one entrance then...

I really struggled to believe that such a place exists in Europe. We knew we had to pay for linen so we got our own. We got there and then found out we have to pay for pillows and blankets! We try to say that this was not stated in the booking.com description and the lady said she was aware...

After reading the previous reviews I was really worried about arriving at this hostel. We stayed for two night and had a double bedroom with our own bathroom. The hostel has a fantastic location, close to the beach and la rambla etc. The hostel looks a bit run down as you go through the entrance and up the stairs but...

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.

“Rooms are very small, tiny I would say. Be prepared to pay extra for use of the kitchen (2 EUR per person), for towels, for bed linen. There was only one electric socket in our room (Nr.6) - which is rather problematic if you have one notebook, two cameras and two iPhones to charge.”

“We had a room facing the inside wall of the building, and it was always very dark in the room. But if you get a room facing the street - it should be too noisy at night. So, choose the inconvenience you prefer :)”
