Stayed here for a few nights in November 2006. This hotel is a 10 min walk from barcelone city centre ( christopher columbus statue ). It is also a 20 min walk from the beach. Hotel was clean, with friendly staff. Language was not a problem. The breakfast was cereal, croissants, toast, coffee/tea. Funny that the breakfast waiter acts like...

My husband and I booked a trip to barcelona which included flight and accomodation. Originally we were going to just book our flight and wing the accomodation. Its a good thing we did not because Aug is prime season and there are no vacancies anywhere in Barcelona (if you dont like millions of tourists then avoid Barcelona in Aug). When...

I'm surprised by some of the recent reviews here but I guess it depends on which part of the hotel you're in. My friend & I stayed here recently and booked via different websites; I was on a refurbished floor but she wasn't. My room was a twin whilst hers was a small single even though we both paid similar...

As we arrived at the Oasis the staff was pleasent and helpful. Our room was small but seemed clean. There was paint missing and black marks on all the walls. When we returned from sight seeing our air conmditioner wasn't working. We told the front desk about it and they said they would send someone up to fix it because...

Booked at hotelclub.com without problems. But the room I got was smelly and very very humid. It only had one tiny window to the inside of the building (very narrow) which means not very airy. There was an air conditioner but it smelled even worse than the room itself. I even saw a bug in the room (I didn't care...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Oasis and can highly recommend this hotel. It is a 10 minute walk from Las Ramblas along the port front. It is very clean, has nice rooms (we stayed in a confort room) with good bathroom and bed. one slight problem was noisy neighbours who has no consideration...

This hotel has been recently refurbished. It is in a great location, just round the corner from the last stop of the Airport train line. 10 minutes walk to Las Ramblas and 10 minutes to the beach. The Marina is just across the road. I was travelling alone and tend to look towards the cheaper hotels. I was very impressed...

We stayed only one night at the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that this was indeed a two star hotel (maybe even better). Most of the time, I feel I want to take a star away from hotels, but this one is a good two star. Location is great, minutes from the Gothic Quarter or 10-15 min. walk from the...

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
