The cruise package is perfect for anyone going on a cruise. We did a one night pre cruise. The hotel transfer was there to pick us up at the airport waiting with a sign that had our name on it. The driver was very helpful with our luggage and dropped us right in front of the hotel...perfect. We had a...

Just returned from a 3 night stay in Barcelona. Hotel Royal on Las Ramblas could not have been better situated for such a trip. We took the Aerobus (blue buses outside terminal) to Placa de Catalunya for only 5 euros each, then it was a 5 minute walk to the Hotel. The rooms which have been recently refurbished were very...

Just returned from a birthday trip for my 21 year old daughter and very pleased I chose this hotel. Better end of Las Ramblas, 5th floor superb views of street entertainment, extremely comfortable beds and bedding - on par with Sheraton Hotels. Superbly soundproofed, very clean and reception staff are professional and very polite. Breakfast buffet not be the best...

The actual name of this hotel is HOTEL ROYAL. That is the name you need to tell the cab driver at the airport. The hotel is located on La Rambla street which is always in festive mood. There are lots of shops, tapas bars, good restairants, banks, pharmacies, ATM and etc. Within walking distance are Plaza Catalunya, the Cathedral, Picasso...

We stayed in a superior quality room on the 6th floor overlooking Las Ramblas. I was impressed with the fact that it was a noisy street--with characters up at all hours of the night, but the windows were triple pane and we didn't hear any street noise when the windows were closed. The bedding was nice too.

We spent 3 nights at the Royal Ramblas after a cruise. The hotel is towards the top of Las Ramblas and has been recently updated. Very nicely done, the room is relatively large as was the bath. I had been quoted at the front desk 520 Euros for three nights (we were in Barcelona for 1 night before the cruise...

The hotel is around a 20 euro taxi ride from the airport, this includes luggage supplement strangely added by catalan taxi drivers. When we arrived at the hotel the check in was smooth however we were allocated the wrong room than the one we paid for, but the hotel corrected their mistake promptly and put us in the junior suite...

Stayed here overnight before embarking on a Norewegian cruise--chose Royal Ramblas for it's convenient downtown location in the heart of Las Ramblas. Only dining option onsite is the cafe on lobby level--they give you coupon to eat there when you check in, and it is appealing because it is a buffet breakfast. Plus, with young children, who wants to go...

Travelled to Barcelona for wife's birthday at the end of Feb. 2010. Delayed for four hours at airport so lost much of first day's holiday. Got the Aerobus from Terminal 2 Barcelona Airport (5 euro single) all the way to Placa Catalunia which was just a short walk to our hotel. The bus in took about 25 minutes, when we...

The Hotel itself is comfortable with a great location atop Las Ramblas, close to both the Liceu and Placa Catalunya metro stations. The staff were welcoming and courteous and only to willing to help or advise. The room was clean and well kept and suprisingly for the location there was no issue with noise given that the room faced Las...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
