Room has no proper ceiling, just a black piece of material half covering the industrial wiring etc. Room also has no window, but we did ask for a quiet room, so perhaps this is the quietest room available. Noise from people opening and closing doors echoes, and when neighbouring people are in their rooms you can hear every word. The...

PROS: great value for money, friendly staff and excellent location. the rooms are spacious for being a guest house. everything is modern and clean. free wi-fi. friendly staff and location is right by the metro and walking distance to many attractions. most recommended! they also have vending machines with drinks, snacks and toiletries. Good value for money. Just above urquinaona metro station - you can slightly hear and feel the trains running. Clean room, kinky shower and aircon. Close to everything and easy to access when arriving with bus from Girona. Close to plaza catalunya when arriving from other airport. Cannot recall better option in barcelona if location and budget is important !

Booked here a room for one night, since the other hotel we stayed at was full for the last night. The location is good, staff was nice, and there is a nice common area, but that's about it... First, we got a room without a window. we asked to change and we were told that even if we would get...

The Hostal is 10 min walk from Las Ramblas, is very central and clean. The staff is nice and helpful. If you choose a room with inside window, be aware that the window doesn´t open, so you´ll have to use the air-conditioner and turn on the lights (as there is a lack of natural light). I would prefer a room...

I can definetly recommend this hostel to you. Even though it is a hostel, it has hotel - like qualities. Nice double rooms with a shower and a toilet, daily cleaning, towels and bed linens, good air conditioning. They even provided extra pillows and blankets when we asked for them. In the morning they put up juices, instant coffe and...

I spent 8 nights in this hotel and I loved this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is just perfect, right in the center of Barcelona, right by the metro station and a 5-minute walk from Placa Catalunya, from where you can get anywhere you want in Barcelona. The hotel is stylish and...

Small and sufficient room however through our booking, the room we were given had no windows and the lighting was very dim in the room. Other provisions such as the breakfeast snacks and water were available daily and pleasant. ALL the reception staff were extremely friend and provided great advice.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
