I stayed here in a private twin room with shared bathroom. The hostel staff are very nice and place has major potential but fell short of the advertising. The hostel is in a residential neighborhood which boasts a great strip nearby with tons of tapas places, this was awesome, this was amazing. The rooms were the type you would see...

The best hostel I've stayed in Euro trip! I've read the rave reviews of it and I was not disappointed! Hostel is easy to get to and its really value for the money. Amenities are okay but the most important thing is the number of people you get to meet here. The staff are helpful, friendly and put in a...

I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel. It was very social as there were less people than previous hostels I've stayed in which was nice as I got to know everyone quite well in the few days I was there. Jennifer and Baptiste (the receptionists) went out of their way to help me plan activities in the day, and...

I absolutely loved the people at the hostel. Actually made some good friends there, but sadly, what you see is not what you get, the rooms are not that great and the beds are very basic. There is a lot of noise and most of the time there is always singing and music in the common areas. Great if you...

A friend of mine recommended this hostel to me after she and her boyfriend stayed here together over the summer. I'M SO GLAD I TOOK HER ADVICE! I was flying solo, have never been to Spain before, but felt right at home. I came in dazed and confused from the airport, and the was checked in by one of the...

I stayed two nights in a four bed. female dorm. The room was nice although very small. The bathroom/toilet on my floor was often used by staff members so I sometimes had to wait quite a long time for it. At check-in I didn't get much information, except for where to buy the best juice and where not to eat....

First time travelling alone and I was a bit nervous about it all, but from the moment I walked in the door, I was made to feel welcome and included. The beds were comfy, the staff friendly and engaging, plus there was loads of optional activities put on by the hostel day and night! The inclusion of the evening meal...

First things first, STAY HERE. I promise you will have an unforgettable experience. It was my first time traveling alone so I was a little nervous about making friends at first, by any nerves I had were quickly forgotten the second I walked in. It's basically impossible not to make friends here. The staff are some of the most friendly,...

Not sure where to start, everything about this hostel was absolutely amazing! - Great location near the metro (and furnicular to Montjuis - or you could just walk) and a street with awesome tapas nearby - Clean rooms/bathrooms - awesome day activities and nights out (with good choices of bars/clubs) - great atmosphere in the common area at all times!...

Good location, close to the Sants train station if you are looking to leave on a day trip from there. Accommodations were clean, even though the rooms were on the smaller side (even for a hostel!). Friendly staff, and dinner provided for free at night! Overall, great experience, would stay again.

Thank Sandy L

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The relatively new Hostel One Paralelo opened in 2011 and has received very high ratings from our reviewers ever since. Our guests say the 'cool, friendly and family', with attentive, friendly staff and clean, new and comfortable beds. It's located near Paral·lel metro station, 'super close and convenient to the centre of Barcelona', within walking distance of Placa d'Espanya, La Rambla, Placa Reial and more. We like their free nightly dinners, made by the staff and designed to create a communal family atmosphere. Close Our custom-designed hostel features thick, comfy mattresses, instant and long-lasting 24hr hot water, bright rooms with windows, free Wi-Fi and computers where you can upload your memory cards. We have a fully-equipped kitchen at your disposal. Even better than that is our sunny patio with Jacuzzi and BBQ to rest and chill out from this crazy city. Our TV gets most sports events, from English premier league to NFL, plus a load of new movies. But what will make the difference is our staff - a mixture of residents and travellers with different backgrounds that are happy to help you sort out whatever you need. Between us we've got a maniacal attention to music, improvised Spanish- and Italian-style dinners, BBQs and crazy and innovative outdoor activities so you can discover our city from a new point of view. Feel at home far from home!! ... more   less
