Everything is very beautiful . location and rooms. but no cleaning. No cleaning done for under 7 days. this is not acceptable . We stayed for 4 nights and cleaning was not done , towels and garbage were not changed . very very silly . it wasn't like this when i stayed before
We have been fortunate to have visited Barcelona many times during many years...In November we visited again to board a Transatlantic Cruise on the Vision of the Seas. This is the third time we stay at The Citadines,in Barcelona. It has a great Location- right at Las Ramblas, it has great accomodations, and the covenience of a studio, where we could do some light cooking. The staff is friendly and helpful (Gracias, Marc) Citadines is an excellent hotel and we reccommend it highly.
We stayed 6 nights at The Citadines Ramblas, the location is the best we could choose,it is on the Ramblas, but we had a very quiet room on the back side, the studio room was big and very comfortable.,very clean. The rooms have a kitchenet whit all you may need, so we could have a light breakfast before starting the day. There is a big supermarket just opposite the hotel. The staf at the reception was friendly ,profesional and polite. I recomend the hotel very much
Extremely noisy. First from the Ramblas general noise and, worse, construction / lorry noise from 5am. Which is ongoing currently. Windows are thin so you get the full impact. Citadines did not warn of that. Otherwise the room is okay. A bit dated with mattresses uncomfortable. But lack of sleep is main thing.
As a family of four (kids 4 and 6) we have been very happy with the location of this hotel. Staff have been wonderful. Water and coffee available in lobby, grocery store and market across the street. Rooms are spacious. It’s clean, it’s got a great location, pull out couch is most comfortable I have every slept on. I could not ask for more for this price point with location in a big city
Lovely location with alot of life and holiday vibe. close to the train station and taxis passing by constantly. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. Booked for a good few days. On arrival The desk staff lacked friendliness. Rooms are okay yet disappointing. Floors were sticky - toilet was not flushed the bin was dirty and so was the floors. For the amount that we have paid to our disappointment there was no housekeeping. If you required your room to be cleaned there is an extra charge. For clean towels you get it yourself at reception. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher fridge stove and microwave. Crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, iron, safe free Wi-Fi and hairdryer provided. Breakfast is very basic
Great opportunity should you want/need accommodations with a kitchen. (Note, we did not have an oven, however). Great location. Loved being able to the hear the churchbell and face inward to the Gothic District. The plaza was a bit loud at times; but nothing unexpected staying in a city with a night life like Barca. The 24/7 coffee and water was great. We didn't have breakfast there; felt like 12 Euros was a bit for a continental breakfast. Overall the property met our needs and would recommend to friends and family needing a good home base for a Barcelona trip.
Overall, I am satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The biggest positive I can mention is the hotel’s location, which is in the heart of Barcelona close to all city sightseeing. There are a lot of shops, bars, fast food places, and restaurants etc near the hotel. The only one drawback of the location is it can be noisy in your room. My room was on the 8th floor, but I could still clearly hear all the noise from the people on the street, and also a church bell, which rang very often during the day. At first I didn’t pay attention to it, but at some point (I was staying in this hotel for almost 1 month) it became annoying. But one big wonderful thing about my room facing the Rambla promenade was the city views from the window, which were absolutely stunning, plus, a lot of daylight inside! So what I can say? CHOICES! The hotel looks good from the inside, the lobby was nice and perfectly clean all the time. The front desk staff was mostly helpful and nice. Only a few times I felt an unfriendly negative attitude from the staff, and mostly it belonged to a super annoying Housekeeping Manager Lady who was kind of crazy and unprofessional in some moments. Once she showed up to my room with a security guy and asked to inspect my room (pretending like she could not speak English, which she clearly understood and spoke). Anyway, she acted like something was wrong in my room and she needed to check it. This performance was worthy of an Oscar! Finally I let her in and you know the first thing she did? She ran to the window and opened it and checked the area outside! Sorry, but WTF??? And you know what she did after? She went to my kitchen and checked my garbage can! And after that, she bent down and checked under the bed! Finally she still did not tell me what she was trying to find or what was wrong with my room. She left and did not explain anything to me! Of course, after that I left a complaint about her crazy behavior to a front desk guy who was also shocked regarding her behavior. Anyway, be aware of this crazy lady if you stay at the hotel and hide things really well if you have something to hide! She thinks she is a detective! Coming back to the positive things about the hotel. I really liked that the hotel had a washing machine and dryer in the basement. It was easy to use them (buying special coins from the front desk), and maybe because the hotel’s guests did not know about them, every single time I came to wash my things in the evening, they were free. They are located on -1 level, by the way, next to a trash room. Oh, a little minus was the elevators which felt old and slow. I believe they need to be replaced. Now about my room. I booked the basic type of room. The room, unfortunately, was kind of small, it felt tight there. The room was okay looking, nothing fancy and nice about it. It felt kind of outdated. The TV was old and small, it was uncomfortable to watch TV shows, which I did connecting my iPad to the TV screen through a special plug. Quality of screen was awful! TV definitely needs to be replaced with something more modern and updated! Also I did not like the bed. By the way, it was not 1 full Queen bed as described in the online room description on their official website. There were 2 Twin Beds together on rollers, which was a complete mess if I wanted to sleep next to my partner! Basically the beds rolled around and finally there was a gap between them where either me or my partner fell thru sometimes (luckily not all the way to the floor). Additionally, these beds were extremely uncomfortable, the mattresses were super hard. Anyway, these awful beds need to be replaced too with one real Queen Bed! Also I hated the pillows! They were super uncomfortable! I asked for replacements, but the front desk guy told me that all the pillows were exactly the same. The main positive thing about the room was a bathroom which looked very good and updated, and I liked the fact that the toilet was separated by a glass door from the rest of the bathroom. The only problem with the bathroom I had was the sink, which drained super slow. The bathroom amenities were a good quality. Oh, and another negative comment of the bathroom is: no toilet brush. I always consider this missing, as a fault. I requested it, but the hotel did not have it, so finally I ended up buying it by my own. My room had a little kitchen as I mentioned before. It was useful for sure. I especially liked the mini-dishwasher there, which was a big plus to have. I only wish the refrigerator were bigger. Wi-Fi was working good during my entire stay, but could be even faster. Finalizing my review, I would recommend this hotel for a stay, especially if you come to Barcelona for a long amount of time. And the main reason why is: the hotel’s value which was approx €76 per night, which is very reasonable especially because of the amazing hotel location if you want to stay in the city center. Do not expect big comfort and fancy design if you reserve the basic type of room. But if you are not picky this hotel is actually a very good option for a stay in Barcelona.…
Great location on Las Ramblas and easily walkable from the airport bus drop off spot. Unfortunately there is usually at least one or two dodgy looking youths sat at the entrance to the walkway the apartments are situated in, something to keep in mind if you are a solo traveller. A door pass is required to get into the Citadines so you do feel safe once inside. We stayed in a studio and it was perfect for two people. There’s a pretty well equipped kitchen but we only used the kettle and fridge. Good sized bathroom with generous sized towels, although shower pressure was pretty weak. The mattress is hard - ok for us as we prefer a firmer bed, but if you like a soft mattress this is probably not the place for you. We had requested a view of Las Ramblas and that’s what we got. The room was pretty sound proofed, but nothing can dim the church bells which start at 8 am. Do take the opportunity to go up to the roof top. We went up at dusk and were treated to an amazing sunset. Sally too cold for the loungers in November. The reception is manned 24 hrs a day and free tea/coffee and water are available. We didn’t take breakfast and from what I saw when getting coffee one morning at 12 euros per person for continental , there’s better options outside the apartments. Overall very impressed. We got a great room rate by booking direct and it offered excellent value for money.…
They have free coffee & tea 24/7 in a machine in the breakfast room. Free bcn maps, the studio apt has everything you could need. 2-3 blocks from where the Aerobus from the airport drops you off at Pl cataluyna. Huge grocery with good prices incl wine & alc across the st. The rooftop terrace open 10-8 with loungers, tables & chairs. Anything you need(towels, soap, etc) just ask at front desk(no maid service). We just checked out(end of oct) & they DID have individual AC control!! It was not “turned off” as much of Europe will do. Fabulous location! & the frig had a freezer to make ice!!!!
