Hotel is old.. noisy rooms. Beds should have been replaced already. They are renovating some floors. Maybe better next year. Location is PERFECT, very central so everything in walking distance. Harbour, shops, plaza Catalunya, metro station 8 min. walk.

With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local
musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

We stated in the Colon last October, so I don't know about their A/C schedule. You might call them to get an answer. If you do stay at the Colon, and you enjoy breakfast, I would heartily recommend trying their breakfast buffet. Very good variety, quantity, and quality. Great neighborhood.
