I've attached photos of the 'shared lounge area', broken shower, the unusable table on the terrace below the broken glass shelter. The last two photos I've uploaded are of the 'bathroom area' in the bedroom. The damp on the ceiling was disgusting, the pipe was impossible to sleep through during the night and just generally gross. None of the staff... More

good location, clean rooms, very nice personnel at the reception, but it was pretty noisy, bathroom good, no elevator, so if you live at 4th floor, it will be very complicated to carry all the luggage but nice people aver all

Due to unexpected circumstances I spent a night at Pension Solarium in Barcelona, as it seemed to be the best value for the price. And it was! As well as a very interesting and memorable experience. I knew I had to expect something quirky for the really cheap price, but still it was kind of hard to expect what Pensium... More

Nice comfortable bed, shower, rooftop terrace. There was a microwave and a vending machines that sold snacks and hot coffee. Perfect location in the old town, close to metro, the sea, bars, and anything else you need there. Stuff spoke not very good English, but even spoke some Russian to me and was quite friendly. The room had no heating... More

Our week in Barcelona was great. Not only because of the weather, but certainly for a great part because of the simpel but great pension Solarium, where we staid for little money. When you have a room at the frontside of the pension (like we did), than the voice from the street is something to think about (take with you... More

It is a budget hotel, so you know it won't be fancy. It does have a very convenient location. Just off of Las Ramblas, easy to get to. My issue with it was primarily how hot it was. No ac obviously. We had a side door opening onto a balcony, but that balcony was accessible by other people, and it... More

It is very noisy and you can not sleep with your Window open, that is a problem because there is no aircondition or fan in... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
