My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights at the beginnign of March, spending around 240€. The hotel was clean and in a good location, close to the underground and a few minutes walk from Las Ramblas. Close to the hotel you can find some places to have breakfast, so not having the breakfast included in the...

I've been for two night at HLG. Location is fantastic, close to university square and Placa de Catalonya. Restaurant, bar, supermarket and Metro station are direct to the hotel. Rooms are clean, personnel is friendly. The only big defect: rooms are really small. No way to move inside sometimes. I would suggest only for short periods and just for sleeping

Amazing service, helped us with everything we needed. The location of the hotel is so good, 3 minutes walk to catalonia square which is no doubt the place to be. 1 minute walk to metro station "universitat". I strongly recommend it!!!!

Had a couple of days in Barcelona with my daughter. Hotel easy to get to, got the cheap regular bus from the airport the underground to universistadt right near the hotel. Warm welcome from staff who helped with a few different queries on the locality. Basic standard type city hotel bedroom which was clean and well appointed. Right on the...

Horrible wifi, unsmiling staff. Lights turn OFF when you use the stairs. Breakfast lacking. Only good thing is location- close to metro and market shops. Stay elsewhere. Must pay for a locker in order to store luggage after check out.

Location We found the location to be perfect, a very short walk from Place de Catalunya and the top of La Rambla. There's a selections of shops and coffee bars and a Supermarket nearby. From the airport catch either the A1 or A2 bus, the third stop is University Square, get off and you're literally 200 yards from the Hotel....

Awful hotel, somebody stole my bag with documents and money in front of the cameras in reception. Receptionists say smiling that the cameras doesnt work, they are just for impression. Never ever heared such stuid explanation. This hotel is recommended for thieves only. Good place for theft! Cameras for impression :)

Booked a 3 bed room, expecting two double beds. Arrived to a very small room meant to be for 3 adults containing a double bed and a single sofa bed. Sofa bed completely broken and couldnt get this fixed until the morning so 3 adults ended up sharing the double bed, not convenient whatsoever. Were told on many occasions bed...

The hotel is great! Great location, small but comfy room, with wifi, air con and even bath tub! With the price I'm paying, I would say this is perfect! Recommended! From the airport, just need to take bus A1, 3 stops later you will reach the destination! Easy!

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
