I was made very welcome by staff on arrival and was asked if i would like to join in on the evenings events in the hostel. I felt settled in an instance as i enjoyed relaxed atmosphere. If I needed advice regarding the city staff would help and pointed me in some great directions. Very clean and enough space.... and...

This was a serendipitous choice. I stumbled upon this youth hostel by chance and could not have found a better place to stay. The people are very nice. Guiti immediately asked me if I would like a coffee and something to eat after arriving and introduced me to other fellow travelers. After a few nights I met the entire staff......

Let me start this off by saying that Albareda Youth Hostel contributed to the best weekend of my recent life. We started off at the Hilton at Diagonal Mar and weren't comfortable there at all, especially for the price we were paying. The next day we woke up and headed to the hostel and were welcomed with open arms by...

I spent three nights in the Hostal Albareda with a group of friends last February, and I have to say we couldn't have made a better choice. It was the ideal hostel: friendly and welcoming hosts, clean rooms and bathrooms, nice decoration, a comfortable common room, good breakfast, and even a kitchen at our disposal! And the location wasn't deceiving...

We stayed here for a weekend trip to Barcelona. I was very pleased with how clean the rooms and bathrooms are. My bed was comfortable, the luggage lockers were convenient, and the reception was helpful. My only complaint was that if you don't want to stay up late, bring some earplugs. The hostel lobby can get loud at night (Spaniards...

Albareda Youth Hostel was a good experience for us. I came with a friend from France and all the people were friendly. The people that work here was friendly too, they said to us the good places to see in Barcelona. The youth hostel is close to the metro station and the rambla, so in 10/15 minutes you can go...

Coming from another Seville hostel, I thought this one paled slightly in comparison. Reception was helpful when we asked questions but didnt really feel a warmth of welcome when we checked in. However, one of the younger lads at reception (this French guy), was really nice as we striked up conversations and chatted about the city and stuff. Location was...

The staff were very helpful and outgoing. The facilities are good for a hostel. The kitchen is small but located next to the common area so it's easy to spread out and meet people. Maybe I got lucky but I was placed in room, and given a bed, furthest from the central part of the hostel where the chance of...

Had the best experience here, the way the dorms are set up around the main lounge, kitchen space, create a wonderful environment to meet fellow travellers. Close to Las Ramblas and great value for money.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
