We stayed in a youth hostel for the first time on new years eve in Barcelona! Mambo Tango looked very decent on the website and we were pleasantly surprised. The room was quite comfortable and the service excellent. The bathrooms were clean and we had no issues with loud neighbors. Unfortunately our room didn't have a private bathroom, we shared...

Stayed for 5 nights with an old uni friend. We had a twin room. The pluses were that this is a great place to meet other travellers. Every night there is a pub crawl which is a fantastic way to meet others. Drinking isn't for everyone and there is also a basement with a tv and lounge area which is...

Hostel is in great location, just 2 mins walk from Parallel metro stop. Lots of tapas restaurants and bars just 1 block from the hostel. We stayed in a double-bed private room and shared a kitchen, dining and a full bathroom with a dorm that had 4 beds. You also have access to bathrooms on other floors...Front desk was friendly...

Having been to Barcelona 4 times, I've stayed 3 times at other St Jordi hostels and once at this one. I recommend the entire chain, you need not look any further than the St Jordi name as you're guaranteed a good time. They do all have different characters though and this one was more like a small, homey hostel, but...

We are three teachers and two parents who came with a group of 33 students to stay at Sant Jordi Mambo Tango during three nights of May 2015. We want to thank the staff for being so helpful throughout our stay. They often asked us about our activities and made recommendations which were great. The location of the hotel was...

This was the first hostel I had ever stayed at, and I really enjoyed it! It is small, but this makes for a very communal atmosphere. The staff put on bar crawls and other events every evening so even though I was with a friend, it seemed incredibly easy to meet new people. Close to Las Ramblas and other must-see...

This is by far the best hostel I have ever been in. It's really small, but the atmosphere is great, the staff is friendy and helpful, they organize gatherings everynight which is a great thing for getting to know other people. The location is also a huge plus since it's located near La Rambla and the port. I highly recommend...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
