There’s so much to say about how great this place is to stay. Firstly, the location is great, you are surrounded by so many places to eat, shops, pharmacies, bars and supermarkets. It’s about a 30 mins walk from here to the gothic quarter and 40 mins walk to the harbour and beach, but there are also plenty of taxis which cost around €10. Our apartment was on the 5th floor and was spot on. The air conditioning kept the whole apartment a cool, comfortable temperature and we had a balcony to which overlooked the tree lined street below. The kitchen had everything we needed with a dishwasher that we didn’t use. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom had a lovely power shower and a washing machine which is useful. We needed some extra towels and a sweeping brush which the staff promptly brought to us as soon as we asked. Please don't go. The people that run this place (there are two sites) should not be in this industry. They hide behind emails in which they write a lot but say nothing. We had a fully confirmed booking in writing and reconfirmed by thelephone for an appartment with terras. The appartment was not available . No compensation was offered, the staff was either extremely rude or incompetent, words I hardly use in reviews. We all make mistakes, but please owe up to your responsability, I travel(ed) a lot for work with over 100 hotel stays a year, but this is unmatched as far as poor customer support and actual quality of the accomodation. So if you come to Barcelona for a good time, please do, but avoid this place, there are many other options.

During the entire stay it was impossible to sleep. Every single night the alarm of the hotel was going off intermittently. Nobody cared to fix it. Extremely noisy during the day as well due to works in the area.

I booked Murmuri Residence Mercader after reading so many good reviews about it. But, for the first time since I first traveled as a child in 1970, I was let down. Really let down by my experience here. Firstly, let me be clear that any member of staff that I engaged with face to face and on the phone were really very nice and approachable. However, they were unable to assist in making my stay more comfortable. We arrived on New Year's eve from the airport on the third leg of our European Christmas trip by taxi to Murmuri Residence Mercader. The gates to the property were locked. I pressed the intercom, but it went unanswered. Thinking that I was at the wrong location I walked around the block looking for another entrance. There wasn't one. When I arrived back to the locked gate, a gentleman arrived from the laneway and opened the gate for us. We went inside and were instructed to check in at a remote kiosk. It took some time as it wouldn't recognise my passport card for quite some time. Frustrating. When we were checked in, the rep who let us in told us we would be staying at a different location which was about five minutes walk away. His english was poor, but better than my Spanish, but we managed to communicate. He took us a few blocks away to another laneway. We were brought into an apartment building directly opposite a nightclub. The apartment was nothing like we saw advertised by the Murmuri Residence Mercader. This was a total downgrade. The floors were worn. The toilet door wouldn't stay closed. The door to the bedroom had paper stuffed in the lock receiver preventing the door from locking. The windows to the outside wouldn't lock securely. The plug on the hair dryer heated up so much that I burnt my hand unplugging it. There was a coffee machine, but no coffee pods. There were no teabags nor complimentary water. Nonetheless, as it was late, we decided to deal with the issue in the morning. Being New Year's eve we wanted to bring out 8 year old to the Magic Fountain for the celebrations. It would be her first time to usher in the new year. The first night was a real eye-opener. The apartment was so badly sound -insulated that it was like our beds were in the nightclub opposite. This went on until about 5am, after which the waste disposal companies moved in and started to empty bins fill of glass bottles. It was a totally sleepless night. The reason we booked Murmuri Residence Mercader was for the quiet location. They put us in the noisiest location possible. I went around to the Murmuri Residence Mercader premises to try and sort out this unacceptable downgrade. However, they told me that there was nothing that they could do as they were booked out. So basically, I had to suck it up and just get on with it. I did contact the hotel company once again at the end of our stay. Their only response to my issue was that they are not responsible for noise outside their premises. The noise would not have been an issue if we had of been accomodated in the building that we paid for. I applied for a part-refund due to their breach of contract through my booking agent, but Murmuri Residence Mercader have so far refused to compensate us in any way. Not great customer service at all. We paid about one thousand euro (incl tax) for four disturbed nights of sleep in an apartment that we were downgraded to.…

As we discussed during your stay, your reservation was made at Murmuri Residence Concepció and not at Mercader as you indicate in your comment. It is worth mentioning that two apartments building are clearly differentiated, both on the official page and also other booking pages. We are sorry if this information was not easy to find for you, however each apartment is like as well as its description and photos. Regarding the inconvenience you experienced with the plug on the hair dryer, we take note and we will check it immediately with our maintenance department to ensure that the temperature is the proper one. However, I regret that you experienced some issues with the room functionality. The maintenance department has already taken the necessary actions in order to solve everything. We feel sorry you found the apartment noisy, however although it really is a quiet location, on the 31st December in the very middle of Barcelona is diffucult if not impossible to find a quiet place. In fact, there is a strong soundproofing in the rooms due to double glazing. If your travels bring you back to Barcelona, please don’t hesitate to contact me personally to make your reservation. There was a green flashing light on the phone and a really bright alarm clock by the bed - fine I put cushions over these/unplugged them but the green light in the ceiling cast this awful unnatural shadow over everything. Don’t care if it’s fire regs, the designers needed to be more considerate of where they put this. As a result of this and poor soundproofing I had a horrendous night’s sleep. That plus the automatic sensor on the bathroom tap and I was not a happy customer. If you have a dark bedroom to sleep at home you will not appreciate this hotel.

I stayed in their 2nd location (Concepcion), and I loved it! I found this place by chance, and the only reason I booked my stay with them is because they belong to the Majestic Hotel Group. I thought this is a sign of the quality and reliability. They were also considerably cheeper than Majestic Hotel itself, while the photos were showing the decent room space and great location. Well, I didn't expect much, though. So, let's talk. Pros: Location is great. Apartment is big, quiet, clean, has everything I need. Personnel was very friendly (even when they didn't speak English at all). Cons: I couldn't quite understand why I don't have any sheet below (next to) the blanket (probably, it was a simple mistake of the housekeeping). The decking of the terrace was worn out and desperately needs to be fixed. The curtains were dirty and not properly attached. The bathroom amenities were very basic and below the 4-star hotel level. Now, the verdict is still: I LOVED staying there (see pros). I will consider this place as my first choice, when I return to Barcelona. See the picture of the sign? If you follow the directions, you will end up at an abandoned building with no instruction as to how to get in the gate. Get rid of the sign. Replace it with a ring the bell sign.

Murmuri Recidence was perfect for us, a family of four (11 and 16). We arrived late to find everything dark and closed and we couldn't even get in to the residence. Turned out we had gotten the wrong info from our travel agency. Check-in (and out) is done at the Murmuri HOTEL just one street over. After a phone call, the night manager came running and sorted us out. He, and the rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The apartment we had was really nice - modern and very clean.Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One queen-size bed and two single beds. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need, even a juice presser and a dish washer. The beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning was probably the quietest I have ever seen (heard). The only minus was the noise from the traffic from the nearby street. Even though the residence is on a quiet little side street, the traffic was sometimes disturbing, even with windows closed and double curtains drawn. But Barcelona is a big city of course, so that was expected. The location is perfect, just off Rambla Catalunya and two minutes walk from Gracia, with all the big brand stores and the Gaudí houses. Rambla Catalunya turns in to the famous La Rambla after a ten minute walk (but don't go there, it's a nasty tourist trap). All in all, I would really recommend Murmuri Recidence, and would stay there again if I come back to Barcelona.…

We stayed for two night (myself, my husband and our 2 yr old). Great check in, Roberto was so friendly and took our luggage the short walk from the hotel over to the apartments for us. The apartment was neat and tidy, a little tired - we were under the impression we would have an en-suite and a bathroom but had just the bathroom to which both doors were broken so was a bit awkward using the toilet and being able to see the kitchen 🤦🏻♀️😂- we notified them upon checkout as didn’t want any hassle during our stay as was only 2 nights. Kitchen was well equipped, beds and bedding were comfortable, street was very quiet and pretty with orange trees lining it. Felt safe due to the key cards and coded access through the front gates and main door. Upon checkout they looked after our luggage and we had drinks in the bar which were great. Again staff sorted our transfer back to the airport and carried our bags which was so kind. Would love to rate 5 stars but the cleanliness or rather tiredness of the shower and bathroom held me back however we would definitely book to stay here again!…
