On first appearance this hotel looks wonderful - modern glass tastefully incorporated into the ruins of San Polo church but ..... the bedrooms are outdated and need modernising to bring them up to 3* standard. The lighting is extremely poor with no main light, only 2 very dim bedside lights and no light bulb in the desk light making reading...

The old ruins of Saint Polo church make an excellent front for this hotel and restaurant. We came across it by chance and loved the setup . It is definitely worth a visit. Stop off for a coffee just to enjoy the layout.

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a tour party. The setting, built into and around ruins is very attractive, but the lobby is small and there is only one lift. Our room, 102, was on the first floor immediately above a rather noisy road, but was otherwise perfectly adequate. The decent breakfast is only served from 8 o'clock...

We stayed for two nights, nice view of the cathedral from most rooms. Beds bit firm but the room is clean and reasonable size. Bathroom quiet adequate, has very basic toiletries. But then, this is a basic hotel, reasonably priced for Salamanca. Evening meals very good value for money. Breakfast good, but can get growded if you are unlucky when...

I wrote a lukewarm review of the San Palo restaurant five years ago. Our afternoon meal today was much improved -- fair price, good food, excellent service. While I can't comment on the hotel itself, and while this is no better than several other nearby restaurants, it's no worse either.

We stayed at the Hotel San Polo for two nights as part of an organised tour. It is, as others have said, just a few minutes walk from the centre of the city and is attractively presented, with the remains of the adjacent 11th century church forming part of the sunken courtyard in front of the hotel. There is only...

Beautifully situated small hotel for visiting Salamanca. We had a deal on the suite which was perfect for our short stay. Large, great bathroom, small balcony area with view to the city. As others have noted, breakfast service is not the best. At breakfast, the waiter's answer to my request for milk for my muesli was "Sit down please!". He...

Hotel is in a great location, as it is only a 5 minute walk to Plaza Mayor and other amazing sights. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room size was good and also the shower had good pressure and temperature. Overall a good 3 star hotel. It was only 52 Euros a night for a triple.

Great hotel, perfect location, couldn't be better. We were only here for a night on a stop over on our motorbike home, but really easy to find, parking for the bike right outside. Easy check in, really helpful polite check in, nice clean basic room, but good for the money, the view was amazing especially in the morning as the...

We stayed at the San Polo for one night on our journey to southern Spain and by booking early got a fantastic rate. The hotel was in a perfect position to see the centre of Salamanca, being only a few minutes walk into Plaza Mayor and was a very interesting building, being attached to a church ruin. Parking was in...
