Lets get this into perspective. This is NOT a modern hotel. If you looking for a Travelodge, Ibis, Ramada or something similar; then go somewhere else for this is not the hotel for you. It is a Canarian' hotel kept in the 'Canarian' style, albeit updated to keep with modern times (wifi, lifts, power-showers, etc.). Our room was at the...

This hotel is very centrally located and this, plus the old Canarian look, is it's main attraction. It is very tired and could be made so much better with a bit of TLC. The lobby is very attractive with all the plants etc. but a lot of it could do with a good clean. One fire door had obviously never been...

Just back after a week at the Monopol and can honestly say that there is no downside to this excellent hotel. We stayed on a lovely room at the front of the hotel with a balcony that overlooked the delightful church square. The room had obviously been recently revamped and was completely faultless. Bathroom had a great shower and was...

I was excited to spend the last few nights of my holiday at The Monopol having read some really positive reviews and loved the story and look of the hotel from the research I had done. The check-in staff were just short of rude - very abrupt and un-interested, not sure if this was due to us being English rather...

The Bedrooms smelled horrible. The cleaners tried to cover this up by using strong bleach but the smell returned by the afternoon. This is probably related to the hotel needing extensive refurbishment? Very dated decor - the colonial style hotel could be beautiful if millions of euros were invested. Some cheap and nasty decorating (wood chip wall paper, foam tiles...

I did not expect much of this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. It is a bit run down but the inner courtyard is really pretty. Also, the location of the hotel is great. If you are on a budget, this is a great choice. Breakfast was good as well. I'd stay again.

We had the only balcony room facing the ocean which also had a little gate leading out onto the pool area which was great for access and nabbing beds early but the only downside was so being there during a religious festival meant everyone wanted to be on our balcony to watch the procession. Annoying! Don't go during mid July...

At first we had a a room somewhere like a basement, very small, no view, no balcony. After we paid extra and changed our room, we stayed in a room with a view, very close to the pool. Good things: Spaceous room, nice view, very close to the center, to the sea, to shops, to everything. Very clean hotel, nice...
