The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and not too far from either the sea or the town. We walked everywhere which we thought was the best way of seeing everything. We were just B&B and the breakfast was really good absolutely no complaints about it whatsoever. We dined each evening at the marina just 7 minutes walk away where...

I am guessing the 5star rating isn't applicable anymore and they will get around one day to updating the signage! Not 5 star service. Changed rooms 3 times and still ended up being woken at 7.30 every day by the noises carrying through the hotel. Hard floors and nothing is muffled. It would be so simple to add door closers...

We booked this holiday through our local travel agent as a Thompson Al Carte package. Our travel agent specified a high floor room with sea view. We eventually arrive at Hotel Santa Catalina, after the taxi driver had first taken us to the wrong hotel further up the island. At check in we were allocated a room on the first...

Very well kept property. Nice pool area, with spa below in a newer part of the hotel. Bar and restaurant partly located on the terrace. Very nice and helpful staff. The area around is like a botanical garden, open to the public. Next door is also a nice museum of a canarian painter Nestor. Very high quality of both the...

I booked an inside room, probably the least expensive in this grand hotel. It was fine, because I wasn't there much! The hotel is about a 25E cab ride from the airport. As we pulled up, I was thrilled to see a classy older hotel, oozing old elegance. Maybe Katherine Hepburn will walk around the corner at any moment! Front...

This is an old-style Grand hotel, with impressive frontage and reception areas. We felt really special entering the place, which benefits from not being a tourist hotel bu a hub for a range of visitor types and is in constant use as a conference venue. It is also Gran Canaria's oldest hotel and has links with the Spanish Royal family,...

We booked here after seeing a lot of positive reviews, okay let get started the hotel is very historic and shows signs of wear and tear, however this gives it so much character. The staff and beautiful Julia on reception is amazing. The hotel facilities are great lovely pool? Beach towels provided, excellent breakfast choice and restaurant, great bar. If...

We expected 5 stars old grand hotel luxury and were a little disappointed for the price we paid. The staff were helpful when asked for assistance but not proactive in helping with bags etc. The breakfast was good, with fresh local fruit and plenty of choice - and was included in the room rate. By contrast, we had to pay...

Upon arrival the hotel looks grand and pretty from the outside. Walking to the front desk the were very understaffed and waited 20 minutes to check in. They did not have our reservation on file, it took another 30 minutes to get everything figured out, and they tried to charge an extra 30€ on top of our original price. The...

We tried the Santa Catalina after finding out Brad Pitt had stayed there a few weeks earlier when filming in Gran Canariaa. What's good enough for Brad is good enough for us. Surprisingly it wasn't that showy probably could do with a renovation but staff were first class and we had a very pleasant stay with no hassle at all....
