We just returned from four special days in Basque Country staying at the Maddiola. If you have a car and enjoy rural settings with spectacular views from high above the Bay of Biscay this is for you. The rooms are clean and modern and the breakfasts plentiful with amazing 180 degree vista over the ocean. The guests are predominantly Spanish...

This hotel is unbelieveably special! So close to the vibrant and busy San Sebastián but far enough away to feel like you're in rural Spain. The countryside and scenery is outstanding and the views breathtaking. Eating breakfast in the restaurant this morning was just awesome! This is a family run hotel, where they really care about the customer. Nothing is...

We like to stay in small, family-run inns because this allows us to live with the locals and sink into a location. The Maddiola more than filled the bill in this regard. The hospitality provided by sisters Maddi and Olia was first rate. The inn is in a beautiful, rural setting, high on a hill overlooking the Bay of Biscay...

We recently visited San Sebastian, Spain. After being in several cities, we were looking for quiet accommodations that weren't in the middle of another city. Agroturismo Maddiola was perfect. It was so comfortable, quiet and a unique experience. We enjoyed the animals, wonderful breakfasts and all the family members were so gracious. The property is about 6 miles out of...

This property is quite a distance out of San Sebastián with a taxi ride costing at least 20 euros each way. If being in the town and enjoying the fabulous food and wine is an important part of your stay then I would look for somewhere else. The daughters of the owners speak English and they couldn't be more helpful,...

Agrotourismo Maddiola is a family run B & B 9km from San Sebastián. It's aspect on the cliffs above the Atlantique Ocean is stunning and the adult daughters Maie and Oylaya were charming, welcoming and helpful. Sadly, the accommodation was less than we expected. Our room was small and dark. The weather was hot and without air conditioning, we had...

A brilliant start to our holiday in Spain - great breakfast (a little different to the run of the mill breakfasts, excellent), slightly on the plain side bedroom, but with everything you need, just not a heap of storage. The bathroom was very good, The views truly are spectacular, and a walk along the local roads is fantastic - not...

This must be the best view of the Atlantic in Northern Spain! But you have to find it first so be certain to ask for good directions, from San Sebastian - it is about 5 miles out of town. Our Sat Nav took us to somebodies front gate in suburban San Sebastian, no where near the Agroturismo Maddiola! The fact...

We finally found this place after our sat nav took us to the wrong location, it is very high up and the views are spectacular on the drive up but when you finally reach your destination it is quite breathtaking! We received a warm welcome and shown to our room which was clean and comfortable but when you opened the...

Great surroundings, great view, great people, delicious breakfast, nice spa, rooms super clean... Just great! Whenever you visit San Sebastián, go there! Sure you have to drive to the city center but it's so WORTH it! You can order massage as well and it feels so good!
