Having traveled to Barcelona several times this year (my daughter goes to school there), I have developed a keen taste and affinity for the exhilarating Basque cuisine, and so it was a great joy to find this truly exceptional restaurant in Washington, DC. La Taberna Del Alabardero sits off the I Street NW, near the World Bank MC, set in...

My wife and I were recommended to go to this remarkable restaurant in Seville (we stayed at the Alfonso XIII ). What a beautiful restaurant! Stunning and the quality of food service and dining experience was superb. So much so we dined here twice during our stay in Seville. From the venison in puff pastry to the scallops to the...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (with another couple so there were 2 rooms we were familiar with). Ours was a very small, moderately clean room with windows facing inner courtyard. This was okay as it meant room was a bit quieter. The bed was hard as a rock, pillows thin and god only knows how old the...

Four fabulous days of being treated like royalty! If you are a "Foodie", this is the Holy Grail.... Breakfast was included, and included amazing treats that were served with loving care. On site are several schools, so every detail was tended to. We returned for lunches that were price fixed and marvelous. The Cento location was perfect for walking to...

A lovely hotel with very professional and attentive staff. It also functions as a training centre, so some of the staff you deal with will be very young and a little scared, but doing everything they can to be helpful. The location is ideal, you can walk to all of the major attractions of the city from here. A bonus...

Spend a wonderful six nights at the hotel and it was exceptional. The staff were all attentive and friendly and the room was classically Spanish without verging on stereotype. Breakfast (served till 1130, nice touch) was a quirky, hand cooked to order affair without delicious home made jams. Practically, the hotel is a couple of minutes walk to the cathedral...

We are staying at the Hotel Alfonso XIII, which is absolutely exceptional. So, I trust that the concierge gives equally exceptional recommendations. He told us that Tabernal del Alabardero was also a cooking school, and the food and wine is wonderful. Indeed, it is. We had a nice white wine, the ravioli starter, the rice & prawn starter, lamb entree,...

This restaurant qualifies as one of those periodic experiences that world travelers inevitably get screwed. While the food is very good, the prices are out of this world (shamefully ridiculous when compared to other dining options in Spain). Upon arrival, we were told to wait in the lobby area (despite the fact we had a reservation); we were invited to...

I loved the room , the food, the building and the service. The taberna is the premiere restaurant in Seville located in a centuries old mansion and which also houses a seven room inn on its 3rd floor. They also run a culinary arts school, outside Seville and the student chefs are given an opportunity to test their skills by offering...

The hotel was well located a few mins walk from the cathedral. As it was unusually hot the room was dark we kept curtains closed and shutters in the bathroom closed (to keep out the heat) and a nice size and quiet for a good nights sleep. The furnishings were quirky and unique. The addition of a whirlpool bath did ease...
