We just checked out and it was an excellent stay that was better than my family and I expected. We booked the whole hotel for a much awaited family reunion, with all of us flying into Spain for a few days of fun in the sun in Granada and Malaga. La Esperanza was the perfect place for a carefree luxury holiday. It’s so beautiful and also very private and safe. We felt pampered and taken care of in every way, but at the same time we felt like La Esperanza was really ours for a few days. Now I know what it’s like to be a hacienda owner and I love it.

The interiors are just remarkable that I can’t even describe it properly. It’s unique and tasteful but also elegant and comfortable. Every thing is a museum piece and everything looks like it’s where it’s supposed to be and no detail is left to chance. It’s a hotel straight out of the best of Architectural Digest. The staff is also amazing. They anticipated every need and want but they also disappeared quickly to give us privacy. My brother is quite famous so this was very important to us, to have a hotel where we could be taken care of but also left alone to have conversations that wouldn’t land in the gossip pages or unauthorized photos in a tabloid. In this sense, it’s the perfect celebrity hideaway. I heard Real Madrid players stayed here too the weekend before us exactly for this same reason. We booked their private chef experience every night and the food did not disappoint at all. In fact we canceled our lunches elsewhere to just eat at La Esperanza instead too.

The final night, we booked the hotel’s flamenco experience and what a treat this turned out to be. It was truly a great way to end a perfect holiday. I don’t usually write reviews but I just felt like telling everyone about this excellent place. If you want privacy, luxury, culture and pampering, La Esperanza is your place. We know it’s ours.

PROS: Absolutely beautiful place with a fascinating story. Every piece is picked with great taste and the rooms make you really feel you are in the heart of Spain. It's hard not to go overboard with praises about the details and the way the whole hotel comes together so it becomes a luxury cultural experience instead of a hotel stay. They offer a lot of experiences to guests and we booked one every night. Every single experience was so personal and special. We never had this in a hotel in Spain before. The private chef cooks a delicious meal every night and then we booked a cultural experience after. I highly recommend the flamenco show which is performed by the best dancer I have ever seen, and the stargazing experience. The stargazing experience left me in awe of the stars, and also in awe of this very special hotel.

CONS: Not cheap! This is not a hotel for budget travelers. The room rates are okay for a luxury hotel but some of the experiences broke my credit card. The most expensive I think was the flamenco show because it had five performers doing a show just for us. It made me feel like a billionaire at that time, having some of the best dancers in Spain perform just for me, but reality hit when I had to pay the bill. My fault as the experience is optional, but who can resist a private flamenco show? If you're rich or if you're celebrating something special, you should book this hotel as you will not regret it and you will consider your money well spent. If you're on a budget, you can still look for room deals on the internet. But try not to book the flamenco show unless you're sure you can afford it. Hahaha.

ncredible rooms in a hacienda style with gold furnishings in the bathroom and beautiful paintings on the walls. Everywhere you look is beautiful. The building itself is very impressive. It looks grand and elegant, like a palace on top of a hill, and we loved the tiles decor everywhere. The scenery is also very special. It makes you feel serene and you can forget your problems! Whatever they are! Breakfast is very good for the price and dinner is a little expensive but a private chef serves you himself and all the dishes are good. This is not a cheap hotel but it is definitely a special one.

We stayed at L Esperanza Granada from Dec 27 to Dec 30. Three nights was too short and we were quite sorry to discover this lovely hotel too late in our trip. We decided to book it as our last hotel before flying out of Malaga to Buenos Aires via Madrid, when it would have been better as the base for our entire trip around Andalucia as everything ic close by. This is such a beautiful place and everything feels peaceful. There is beauty all around. We stayed in a deluxe double room which was spacious and comfortable. We loved the vintage touches in the bathroom and it was very nice to see real art work on the walls of a hotel room for once!

As the hotel is in the countryside, we decided to book all our three dinners at the hotel. There is no restaurant but there is a private chef who creates delicious dinners. We tried his gastronomic dinner on the first night and it was amazing and so creative. For the following nights, he was happy to take our requests for meals. I wanted a paella so he made a paella of seafood and chicken for our last night and it was honestly the best paella I ever had. The salon where they serve dinners is so nicely done, too, and it is a great pleasure to sit by the fireplace.

The only (small) downside is that this hotel is not cheap. But we felt that it was good value because it is truly an experience like no other. So if you are a luxury traveler or if you are lucky enough to find a room at a discount, La Esperanza Granada is for you. The best rates are apparently direct bookings. We asked for the best rate very nicely and although it was higher than what we originally budgeted for, we were more than happy that we chose this hotel. We hope to return in the spring!

If you’re looking to enjoy both peaceful surroundings at a luxurious hacienda while being close enough to all the experiences that Granada has to offer, I highly recommend booking a stay at La Esperanza Granada. This authentic villa is a perfect location for couples, where you can enjoy from a relaxing swimming pool area to endless gardens all around. During my stay at La Esperanza, I stayed in their Junior Suite which is a fantastic corner room with access to two patios and their fabulous courtyard, inspired in La Alhambra. Waking up with my partner to enjoy our morning coffee on a private terrace overlooking the valley was definitely my favorite part!

After the pandemic and all the lockdowns and restrictions in the UK, my husband and I wanted only peace, nature and space for our first holiday after COVID.

When I saw the photos on the website, I was immediately in love. It was exactly what I wanted. A Spanish hacienda in the middle of nature with affordable spa treatments (by UK standards!).

The hotel cost us more than we budgeted. But it was worth it and I cannot wait to do it again. We stayed in a deluxe double room and from my bed I could see beautiful paintings on the walls and nature outside.

Every night we booked the private chef because the hotel is so romantic at night so you won’t want to leave. The food was the best Spanish food I ever had and the dining room is so lovely.

The spa therapist is excellent. In fact the treatments were addicting. She took out a crink in my neck that had been bothering me for ages. I couldn’t believe it.

For us it was a dream hotel. We loved our stay.

I am actually writing this from La Esperanza Granada itself. It's our last night in this paradise of a place where we hace spent five peaceful nights getting away from the world. Our stay is not cheap but It is worth every euro for a nice treat, especially after the pandémic. We splurged on the junior suite which has its own massive terrace with a view of a canyon. The decor and service has made our stay most unforgettable.

A truly delightful formerly private hacienda perched above the valley overlooking Andalucian villages. Built around a beautifully tiled courtyard with rooms located around it, this former home turned luxury boutique hotel is absolutely charming. And the reviews show this.
Welcomed by Napo, the GM, who personally is there throughout your stay you feel the charm of the property. Dinner is served as requested, and breakfast featuring local fayre providing a rate of the area. Oh and enjoy a choice of records on the old gramophone for dinner!
The rooms are all very comfortable and especially the main suite that has wonderful terraces to enjoy the valley views.
If you have a car and time to enjoy this boutique hotel is perfect! Mins to Granada, the Sierra Nevada and to the Med! And each time welcomed with warm hospitality!!

La Esperanza Granada is one of the most special places I have ever been. This is a unique, exquisite property, where you will find tranquility and hospitality that makes it my favorite place to recharge.

Once you arrive (after a drive through the picturesque countryside surrounding Granada), you are treated with incredible vistas and architectural details that give the property a sense of place that can be hard to find in some of these types of properties. The surrounding countryside is awe inspiring, and as you walk the grounds you cannot help but notice the stunning views available from every corner of the property. The tranquil beauty of the enormous courtyard, and the interior design and unique furnishings of the master suite, make you feel like you are in your own country home.

Over my multiple trips, I have had the pleasure of enjoying many of the experiences and local tours that La Esperanza offers (Granada tapas tour, Spanish guitar, flamenco, paella making, stargazing, mixology – to name a few). You can tell La Esperanza takes great care in choosing the people who lead these activities – focusing on people from the local area who are extremely knowledgeable about their craft, proud of their culture, and dedicated to showcasing the best the region has to offer.

What truly makes this place special, however, are the people on property who make it their daily mission to deliver an amazing guest experience at La Esperanza. From the moment you land at the airport, Eugenio (the hotel driver) is extremely warm and welcoming. Every detail of the trip was meticulously planned and orchestrated by Napo, the General Manager. Napo and his colleague, Krum, have an innate ability to anticipate your every wish, all of which they fulfill with such grace and a big smile (Napo also puts together a top shelf Spanish breakfast!). Napo and Krum go above and beyond at every possible moment to make La Esperanza feel like home. I can’t end without highlighting the amazing food. I’ve eaten most of my meals on property each time I’ve stayed here, and with each meal, Chef Cone (a world class chef living in the next town over) has found memorable ways to highlight the bountiful local produce and unique flavors of the region

La Esperanza Granada has a very special place in my heart and I cannot wait to return many more times to my home in Spain.
