Hotel Gar Anat was perfect: centrally located, beautiful combination of old and modern, very comfortable rooms and beds, and helpful, sweet staff. Highlights were the design of the windows you can open in the room and the 13th century cellar where breakfast was served.
From check in through departure the stay was lovely. As soon as I arrived I was quickly checked in. A dinner reservation was made and a taxi offered. I was shown through the main floor and where I could get coffee/tea and a quick history lesson. The room was simple and very clean with a wonderful view. Bed was comfortable and water pressure excellent. Granada is really worth a visit and the hotel a fantastic option.
This historical building is quite unique, even from the moment you enter the special entrance door. It’s a quaint hotel, and is very conveniently located (although the street was a little loud in the morning). We were only here for one night, but the staff was helpful and friendly. Our room had to have been one of the largest as it was huge! I think it may have been the Serena de Amarillos room. The bathroom was also enormous, although it did not have a shower, just a tub. Even though we didn’t use the toiletries provided as we had our own, Gar Arnat provided more than I’ve ever seen in a hotel before which is a nice touch. There was a refrigerator with included water which was great. There was also plenty of room to sit and have a glass of wine at night, and everything was very clean. We did have an issue with the air conditioner that night, and I talked to the gentleman at the desk. He came to look at it and just said it was because it was such a large room that it wasn’t keeping up. By the middle of the night however, it did get quite chilly. They even have a “wish tree” in the main lobby. They provide hanging tags you can write on and hang on the tree. I would recommend a stay here if you visit Granada.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the Gar Anat. Although we had one of the smallest rooms it was decorated and furnished so simply it was lovely. Reception was very professional and welcoming. They gave us a brief explanation of the building’s history which was fascinating. Afternoon tea and cake in the Library was a nice touch and we were so pleased we decided to include breakfast as it was an incredible spread. Added to all this, the location is also just perfect for getting out and about.
Great service staff lovely breakfast great and room very comfortable.Close to everything. Could not fault this lovely historic hotel had a great time thanks to all the staff. Would recommend staying for anyone wanting to visit the beautiful city of Granada.
From the special entrance door up to our lovely room on the top floor: A unique experience. Thanks to the whole stuff for your great personal service. We've enjoyed & therefore can recommend the "romantic package" option. As well as the optional parking garage nearby the hotel... narrow but manageable... even with a Q5. Not to forget the good breakfast on a long table in a beautiful vaulted cellar. For us the following holds: Return to Granada = Return to Garanat :-)
The hotel had charm and sophistication. The service was great and parking though tight worked well. We decided to have breakfast in the quant basement. This was lovely. Fresh scrambled eggs both mornings. The location. Is amazing. Everything was walking distance
Unique hotel in the centre of Granada, close to all tourist destinations, bars and restaurants. Walking distance to Alhambra palace. Easy check in, rooms are large and individually decorated, our room was quite dark and not helped by one of the wall lights not working. Breakfast is served in beautiful domed cellar, continental breakfast with everything fresh. The lady that looks after the breakfast room was really pleasant and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we wanted, even cooked me scramble eggs to order. The hotel is located on a small narrow side street, we stayed over a weekend and didn’t hear any noise from the road. We arrived by car and used the hotel parking which is 100 yards from the hotel. If you are arriving by car the best bit of advise is DO NOT follow your sat nav as it will take you the long way around, down streets barely wider than a car. Follow the directions provided by the hotel, they are much easier and a lot less stressful! I would definitely stay here again.…
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The night staff who was called Carlos was particularly helpful. He was kind and kept the kettle out for me every evening for my hot water which I drink every night. The breakfast is excellent and the lady who cooks and looks after it is friendly and nothing was too much to ask. She made fresh scrambled eggs once she discovered my son loves them. It is in the centre of town and next to a brilliant Gin Bar which is always a winner for me! It was a peaceful hotel and had an intimate feel about it. I would highly recommend it .
Disappointing for the price and website pictures. No idea why Trip Advisor has it as a traveler’s choice. The location is good for access to Granada’s sights. But it’s noisy having a narrow road one side that’s a major bus route which echoes all round. Has a lovely central space beyond the basic reception lobby and it’s small but Boutique is to suggest a little luxury; there was none in either of the two rooms we tried. The rooms were gloomy and lacked any decent fittings and furnishings to sit on or write at. The website photos definitely brighten the light fittings and daylight. The lighting in our room was an ugly pale ghostly green blue light. Poor bed. No places in the bathroom to put stuff. No tea/coffee-making kit. A garage at some 200m is no problem but no one to help you with bags. The main door is so small and so stiff it’s a struggle with bags - and staff are not there to help. There was no cake or all day tea and coffee as advertised and which might be part of the Boutique experience.…
