Just back from 3 nights at this hotel and both my partner and I were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's true you get what you pay for and if you take the time to do some Google map research before you arrive you will know exactly where this hotel is positioned and what's nearby. Arrived in time to catch the last train from the airport. Hotel is less than 5 mins walk from Los Alamos train station. Check in by two male staff members. Please remember you are in Spain, where the local language is Spanish, so to observe that people don't speak much English is a little rude. The staff speak better English than I suspect you speak any Spanish. That being said, all of the reception staff spoke good to great English. Room 325 overlooks the rear of the hotel. Great view of the planes taking off! The room was absolutely spotless. Yes it's dated. But you get what you pay for. Two beds pushed together and a huge pillow each. We both slept fine. Air con is either on or off. The first night we both got too cold, so didn't bother the next two nights. There are only two plugs in the room. Both on the opposite side of the room from the bed (unplug the Tv). There is a safe but we didn't use it. I guess it's a paid for option. There are complimentary packs of shampoo, shower gel and soap in the bathroom. The shower is over the bath. But was powerful and hot. Just be careful getting out as the water goes everywhere. The room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided. Breakfast is decent enough.in fact it exceeded both our expectations. Choice of breads, cheeses, hams, hot food and fruit. We ate well each morning. The dining room is functional. On the Sunday morning it was rammed (not sure if a huge group were leaving at the same time, or a group had been coached in for brekkie) we found a table and there was still plenty of food available. We walked to the beach each day. But on our last day, went to the pool around mid day and were the only two there. Very peaceful. There is a luggage room too. Just ask at reception. We didn't stay in the hotel for any other meals or drinks, as we like to be out exploring. But did notice a sign that there was a singer performing one evening. Hotel is very clean. Staff friendly. For what we paid, our atay for three nights here far outweighed our expectations

Stayed here a vert short night before leaving with a plane from Malaga Airport which is only 5 minutes drive away. It looks like a hotel from the late 70’ties, but is clean and kept well. So for a short stay-over, I would consider this again. For a longer stay, I would probably chose a hotel in a areal that fits my interests better.

We were looking for a low budget holiday and that's exactly what we got. After doing some solid research we knew what to expect and I must say we had a lovely time! For the price we paid I don't think we could've asked for much more. Main points to note if youre looking to stay here:- • Air con in room works great but is not adjustable (on or off!) • Rooms are basic, but very clean (as was the rest of the hotel) although perhaps a little tired. The beds weren't that comfy if I'm honest but again, what you'd expect for the price. • The is quite a bit of noise. The walls are thin, there is a large generator by the hotel, an airport and a train station so if you're after a deserted island silence you will not enjoy your stay! • Your room won't get cleaned unless you put the sign on the door requesting it (which is why it is there!) ours was cleaned each day we put it out and was cleaned well! • The breakfast in the morning is OK, there is enough choice but it is basic, traditional continental, if you're fussy this may not be for you • The pool is fine, opens 11-7. It could do with a deep clean but I've definitely seen worse! It is quite deep, shallow end is 135m getting increasingly deeper to 3m. It is also lifeguarded. • THERE IS NO ENTERTAINMENT at the hotel, infact I would say there isn't much of a "nightlife" at all. However, it is a 15 (ish) minute walk to the beachfront where you will find restaurants and bars with some nice food and some music. It's more of a chilled beach vibes scene as opposed to dancing/nightclub style holiday • You can get the train (C1 line to the airport and to Malaga central for a day of site seeing and museums as something to do) which is all pretty cheap (unless should fancy a shopping spree in malaga as there is a large strip of shops). We visited the Picasso museum which is 9 euros per person • Lots of people have complained about people not speaking English- it is a local place and not flocked with tourist therefore not all staff speak fluent english. If you EXPECT everyone to speak English you will struggle, perhaps learn some basic Spanish!! before you come to help a little bit but we got on absoltuely fine and everyone was patient and polite! In summary, if you're looking for a chilled few days to get away as a small group or a couple you can spend your days drinking at a beach bar/club, or by the pool and maybe a bit of site seeing then this is a great place and we will be coming back. However, there is limited places and stuff to do and you need to be prepared to walk, if you're looking for a longer holiday and a bit of nightlife this is not the place for you. We had a nice little break and will come back next time we're in need of a cheap and cheerful break!

Stayed at Royal Costa Torremolinos on August 25th. Checked in at 5pm and went out and returned at midnight. Our room was broken into door obviously kicked in and room rummaged through. 2000 Euro stolen and my 10 year old daughters suitcase and lock damaged. Staff attended room to confirm entry and switch us rooms as door was heavily damaged. I had early flight out next morning and told staff to call police and they advised that they would. As I was leaving the staff member advised police would be called. My wife and daughter stayed at hotel an additional day as they had a different return flight. During the next day my wife was advised its not hotel policy to call police and that it was victims responsibility. I had a flight to catch and my wife returned our rental vehicle. As a retired Canadian police officer of over 31 years I am appalled. Staff lacked compassion and desire to get authorities involved. Both room safes did not work and security is non existent. I have been home two weeks and have not received a call from management to discuss compensation. It seems the attitude is go back to Canada without your Euros and keep your mouth shut. My daughter is traumatized and we are disgusted. When you are a part of a hotel you just don't represent the hotel you represent your country. The staff at Royal Costa should be ashamed.

We stayed at the Hotel royal costa for 5 nights. Some days our room was no cleaned. The service from the hotel staff was fine if you speak Spanish. However, a major disappointment was the lack of activities, bars or restaurants surrounding the hotel. We had to walk at least 15 -20 minutes to get the main strip where the beach is ; this is where the night life is just not ideal to walk back after night out of drinking. Personally, I wouldn't stay there again based on that reason and the fact that there was no one else from a different ethnic background so we stood out like a sore thumb! The breakfast buffet was fine although the food became too repetitive. The room size was okay although the room is NOT soundproof! Bed was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep in but on the plus side there is AC. The swimming pool was nice temperature wise but far too deep I could barely manage to stand in the 160cm section yet I'm 173 cm! PS: the bar at the hotel served stale crisps with their meals and the following day I saw lot ants on the bar counter safe to say that put me off! I wouldn't return nor recommend.

Just finish a week's stay with my 2 children. Buffet breakfast OK, pool lovely and clean also warm. Pool bar OK. Cleanliness of the rooms excellent cleaned Daily with clean towels. Location poor in the middle of nowhere plus side 5 Min walk to train station. The biggest let down is there is absolutely NO entertainment day and evening as promised on website so this did ruin our holiday a little. People do need to be made aware of this. Also staff speak very little English so communication is difficult. Unfortunately we wouldn't return as then atmosphere was dead and been so far out.

Easy to get to from airport by train or taxi + travelling to ex Torremolinos and Malaga as the train is just around the corner. Friendly staff, not too expensive, good and long breakfast included, nice clean room with balcony and good air condition. Hotel seemed recently renovated! Pool was also great, but we mostly went to the beach (10-15 min walk) as we prefer that. Also because the lifeguard that came in from day 2/3 unfortunately had a bad habit of walking multiple rounds around the pool (yes we even started counting at one point...) putting kids and grown ups in their place with an overly rude, unnecessary tone. We understand that’s his job, but it was way beyond what he needed to do and the pool rules. Kids got scared of him and the parents moods visibly ruined. Nearly every guest we saw on day 1 got annoyed and moved to the beach the following days… Ironically, everyone got tired and broke the rules behind his back once he sat down on his phone with earpods in Apart from that, great stay and good service! Would definitely recommend

We were promised our money back after waiting 1,5 hour for our undercooked food (with a baby), but then they suddenly refused and did nothing. They speak little to no English and are very unhelpful. Do not recommend this, I’ll never come back.

So firstly let me start by saying that this hotel is by no means bad In any way…basic..yes..bad…far from it. You literally get what you pay for so don’t book a 3 star like this if your expecting a 5 🤷‍♀️ So upon our arrival at 2am went to check in and mistakingly I had put check in day for 12pm the following day, reception gave us an emergency room FREE of charge which I thought was pretty hospitable of them. They staff were friendly, the food was hit and miss as it is in every hotel I’ve stayed in but there is always something to nibble on, you won’t starve. Pool is nice 👌 clean, watch out for the wasps round the showers though…absolute @ssholes they are! 😡 The rooms are okay the bath is like a half bath though so you have to sort lay with your feet on the wall in the birthing position to wash your hair ladies…. The balcony view was of the motorway so at first I was really peed off but then 10 mins later I spotted planes taking off which was awesome to watch on an evening, but they are far away enough for it not to be too noisy…what is noisy though is the dog in the town house below us…it’s one of them white dogs with the stains…had me up barking from 6am every morning! Not the hotels fault I know but be warned bring earplugs…or a pellet gun. The rooms are cleaned every day l, clean towels, fresh sheets etc. yeah overall I can’t really complain, we payed peanuts and had a brilliant time, I’d say the only thing missing was evening entertainment, but we may have been just a little early in season for that to have started I dunno 🤷‍♀️ Someone said it had entertainment last year.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and spacious enough. The breakfast which added to the overall good value was fine too. Very nice swimming pool and train station few minutes walk away providing easy access to Malaga, airport etc. If the receptionist had been just a tad more welcoming I’d given 5 stars. Very nice stay - highly recommended for the price range.
