Do not be fooled by the pictures in the brochure or website. Apologies for the delay in posting my review as our complaint was being investigated by jet2 holidays On arrival we proceeded to our allocated room 108, which was way out at the back. On our to the room, we was greeted by flowerbeds full of dried out cat 💩, which looked like it had been there for weeks/months. Why this could not be cleared, who knows. Once in the room, we was met with an outdated room, with stained light shades, ripped curtains, stained towels, door frames damaged and utter filth. A kettle was provided in our all inclusive room, yet no coffee, sugar or cartons of milk. What a joke. We had paid just short or £1000 each for the privilege and upgraded to the gold premium package all inclusive+ also. We went straight back to reception and asked for a room change. Was told that there was nothing available at that time and to return the following day, which we did. We 1st saw the jet 2 rep who took all.our details and made a case number for our complaint. The restaurant inclusive + members sit in is an all glass affair where we found limited spaces if you wasn't in early with dirty plates and glasses still on the tables. Very hot dependant on time of the day as its like sitting in a greenhouse with no curtains to shade you or cool you. Found the soft drink and beer dispensers only worked for 3 days of our 7. You are also given 3 meals from the a la carte menu, what a joke, this was warmed up burgers from lunch-time as a sort of starter on the table 🤢 all I can say is that people need to avoid, and jet 2 have now investigated our complaint and decided that dogs and cats frequent the area and it cannot be helped. Also that the reasons for the rooms being dated is due to.wear and tear. Please look at the photos I am adding and make up your own mind. We paid nearly £1000 each to stay in this rat pit. Having said that the bar staff at the hotel were very nice and polite

Despite booking 3 rooms 18 months previously, on arrival we were told the hotel was overbooked and my 2 adult children & one of their partners could either share a suite or go to another hotel for 2 nights. Male Receptionist was rude when I declined and said we were on holiday as a family and would be happy all going to the other hotel. He seemed to think I should be grateful as a suite was an ‘upgrade’! Eventually after several calls to my TA, EasyJet to the hotel/me etc, we were all found rooms in the same hotel, our room had wet towels in the fridge on arrival! My eldest daughter & her family were arriving the early hours of the following day and we were told there was no room at the hotel for them either and they would have to stay elsewhere. At 3am with a 6 year old!!!! They were found a room at the hotel overnight though, again after calls between ourselves, TA etc, albeit a double room for the 4 of them & were moved the following day after a visit to see the manager! We’d been offered free safe keys, free pool towels (we’d already been using towels so no use to us!) and 2 free meals in their speciality restaurant. On going to book these we were told the offer was rescinded as we were happy with our new rooms!!!! Overall for the price, if we wouldn’t have had the problem with the rooms I would have given a 3 star. Definitely not a 4 star hotel though. Food ok (I’m a fairly fussy eater abroad so mainly lived on toasties/chip & bread rolls. 3 of our party will eat anything and there was definitely days when the food wasn’t the greatest. There was a film crew at the hotel over the first couple of days so I’m guessing this was the reason they were overbooked. Whilst the first two days were disappointing trying to sort out these problems, can’t fault most of the staff, cleaners, bloke making the toasties, pancakes etc. entertainment a bit hit & miss but again hard working staff! Wouldn’t return though.

When booking a room near the water, I didn't expect the buffet and entertainment to bee included in already reasonable price. The room with 4 small beds had a spectacular view of the sunrise over the sea. The entertainment could be heard well past the midnight. One thing that was truly irritating were our neighbors partying on the balcony, but that was controlled with a simple "keep it down!" and did affect our satisfactory experience. I probably won't pick it for a week long vacation, but for our 1 night stay it was perfect. Nice beds and some other updates could really breathe some life into this cute place.

We stayed again for a week from 17th to 25th October. All the staff are hard working and friendly. The only downside was the food it wasnt as good compared to previous years, however, we didn't starve. The entertainment staff are brilliant. We will more than likely be back again next year.

Ninth time we have visited though thanks to Covid not for 3 years. Nice hotel friendly staff especially Marta and Connor and their helper in the downstairs bar, who helped make the holiday. Food still needs some improvement good choice but repetitive and similarly flavoured every evening. Housekeeping staff friendly and keen to please. Will be back with Yesterday Once More next year

5 stars 🌟 for all the hotels staff other than 1 member of staff (restaurant manger or waiter manager I think. It was a busy dinner and whilst standing there with our 4 hungry children he said we can just sit at separate tables and was just rude in manner) they work incredibly hard and always had a smile on their faces. The entertainment team is the best I've seen whilst away, entertaining almost all day and cater for all ages. Argi (unsure of spelling) he was absolutely brilliant and made us howl with laughter. The restaurant staff were very friendly and always interacting with our 18month old. The snack bar was brilliant the food was cooked to order and tasted delicious. The snack bar and the pool bar staff work long hours and nothing was ever a problem. We at first were put in 2 andalucian rooms not sure how the hotel can sell these rooms as 4 star (see first 5 attached photos) however we were given a room change with no issues in another part of the hotel over looking the pool, even better the rooms given were interconnected so made it much easier for our family of 6 to be together. A few negatives the pool area tiles extremely slippery when wet which caused us lots of anxiety around the children, our 18month old slipped backwards and banged his head on the tiles. Every time we saw ours and other children run we panicked! We were shocked the lifeguard had no first aid on hand. Due to my job I knew the signs to look out for after a banged to the head like he had thankfully he seems absolutely fine. Although the anxiety around the bang to his head did mean we were not as relaxed for the rest of the holiday as worried every time he ran anywere (as a mother of 4 I'm not being an ott mum!) The restaurant food although tasted good and presented very well, for fussy eaters 2 of my children (aged 8 & 11) lived on chips and rolls for a week, this is obviously more a negative for us and may not be an issue for others but I did feel they needed more simple options for children! For a half term we only had one busy dinner in the restaurant. All other breakfasts, lunches and dinners we were able to get in and seated as an 8 (grandparents also came with us) We saw cleaners morning, noon and night and again working incredibly hard you can not fault the cleanliness of the hotel inside and outside. The evening entertainment as mentioned earlier was brilliant, mini disco then a different show each evening. The acts brought in were just as good as the shows the team put on. Overall we had a lovely family holiday 2 adults and 4 boys aged 15,11,8 & 18 months. Although the pool slip really did shake our nerves, we would return due to the fun we had maybe when the baby is a bit older! Thank you team hotel puente real 😊

Whilst I have to say this hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment the staff are what carry the hotel . They are all so polite , work hard and the entertainment team are the reason I would say definitely go . They make this hotel worth a visit, from the kids club to the all round activities for families . Food was good , lots of choices, rooms were clean . I would recommend as there are so many positive points .

I do not know how this hotel have 4 stars. Even for 3 stars it is not ready. The food was poor in choise. They did not invested Any money in the last 10 years (at least 10 years). We had a problem with the toillet in the middle of the night and they did not fix the problem until the morning because they did not have a plumber (this is not acceptable for an 4 stars hotel that have hundreds of rooms). Everything is old there, the paintings, the pool, the atractions inside the resort. In the rooms (because we’ve booked 3 rooms) they did not provided water, even glasses we did not had. The bar and the restaurant too little reporting on the number of clients ( we had to wait 15 minutes for a coffe). And lots of other issues. So I give them 2 stars, in reality they are 2,8 stars on a maximum of 5.

Stayed here the last week of the season before it closed for winter (October Half Term). Overall very good. Hotel say it’s 4 star, would more agree with Jet2’s rating of 3.5 stars. Many good aspects but not luxurious. Very close to airport (less than 10 minutes transfer if no other drops offs). Hotel very clean and staff very friendly. Rooms basic but lovely big balcony overlooking sea and everything you need. Fridge, hair dryer and bath in our room. Entertainment staff worked very hard and did a lot of evening shows themselves. Very funny but translated into 3/4 languages so sometimes difficult to hear all announcements but got the funny side. Pool side entertainment/activities all day if you want it. Watching the male staff do aqua Zumba was a highlight! Never had to reserve a sun bed and lots available but maybe different during summer months. I have seen a lot of bad reviews about food but we enjoyed it. I would say it is the best all inclusive food I have had in a 3/4 star hotel! They do themed nights every night so completely different food each night. Eg. Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Mexican which prevents it becoming boring. All fresh and constantly checking temperatures and rotating food too. Lots of choice and never went hungry. Always have kids option available for fussy eaters eg. Pasta, sauce and chips. Snack bar food amazing and prepared to order in-front of you. Arrived at hotel very late but large cold buffet was left out for us and bottles of wine on the table, lovely welcome! Drinks choice as expected. Some cocktails, wide choice of local spirits and Amstel beer on tap. Self service machines available or bar service. Didn’t upgrade to ‘gold’ all inclusive and didn’t see many people who did. Still don’t really understand what the benefits of it are. Local area: Train station (Los Alamos) about 10-15 minute flat walk away (turn left out of hotel then left at anchor roundabout). We used it to get to Malaga and Fuengirola. Very easy to use trains and cheap. Mijas is a must visit, beautiful white town in hills with amazing views. Get bus for €1.55 from Fuengirola centre. Also visited Caminito del Rey which was fantastic for anyone who likes heights and suspension bridges! Used taxi to get to Aqualand which cost €7.50ish each way. Hotel reception rang taxi for us and came 2 minutes later. Overall we had a lovely holiday and ignore the bad reviews. If you go expecting a 3 star experience, it will exceed your expectations :-)
