We stayed here on our first visit to Torremolinos in 2017. We enjoyed it then and this stay was equally as enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location in the town and only a short walk to restaurants, bars and the train station. The beach is around a 15 minute walk away. The hotel is just how I remember it, friendly staff, great food and very generous alcohol measures. I sent a request for a high floor and this request was met. We were given a room on the 9th floor which even had distant sea views. I really can’t understand the negative reviews at all. It’s an all round great hotel and we will definitely be back again at some point.

Very busy hotel, If you require a quiet pool holiday this is not for you. Nice enough Hotel. lots of positives. But the pool area... too busy, unable to get a sun bed daily. Had to sit in the shade most of the time if stayed in Hotel. Sun beds are crowded and close together. Pool in shade by the afternoon. They do offer free coach to and from the beach front or a good walk otherwise. So I had to go to the beach most days. They have a sister hotel on the beach front where you have access to their daily beach BBQ bar for food and toilets. Which is a bonus. Good bars available in the Hotel, live entertainment was better in the night club than outside. Good range of cocktails and drinks . Food ok restaurant busy. Need to avoid the busy times. Plus side : Torromolinos town centre is a lovely place to walk around and walk down to the beach and a nice walk round to Benalmedena marina, if you like to explore. Hotel bit disappointing for me over all.

Pros - All the staff I met were lovely and really helpful and work tirelessly hard. Torromolinos and surrounding areas are very nice and definitely worth having a wander down to the old town. Cons - No way is this a 4 star hotel, 2 at the best. Breakfast was just about edible, although it was luke warm every morning. We didn’t even bother with the evening meal and ate out every night. The hotel is in much need of modernising and the lifts need servicing, they feel very unsteady. The gym is non existent, with a couple dumb bells and a cross trainer. Overall very disappointed and I would definitely not return to this hotel.

Writing on behalf of my family who wanted me to review this hotel but more importantly to pass on our thanks to the staff. We got back from Torremolinos last week, we stayed at the Marconfort. The hotel is lovely but the staff made the experience wonderful. They all work so hard and are so friendly and helpful. It’s not fair to single any one member out because they are all great but…one man on Reception was so helpful printing my boarding passes out that I was a bit overwhelmed. And the blonde lady who cleans the rooms and works so hard, always with a smile and a ‘hola’ is just so lovely. If anybody from the hotel reads this, please do pass on our gratitude as it was because of this that my family rated this as one (if not ‘the’) best holiday they’ve ever had. Thank you.

Good hotel in a convenient location in Torremolinos. Stayed in October half term with a family of school age children. All in all, brilliant value for money, for what we paid we have no major complaints at all. Pluses: Quadruple room was a very good size (often you get squeezed into a standard room with extra beds and no room to swing a cat), but balcony was tiny! Food and drinks wise, there was plenty of choice, all day. Food was of good quality in our opinion (we are a family that enjoys trying local cuisines). Even though we were checking out on their last open day before the Christmas break, we weren't made to feel like it was 'closing down' and were well catered for until we left late afternoon. Staff are wonderfully friendly. A huge thank you goes to Adel in the restaurant who showed great interest in chatting with our little ones about Pokémon and football (the 5 year old refers to him still as 'my friend Adel from holiday')! Downsides: The hotel itself is showing a little wear and tear, but we were there at the very end of their season. Pool area only gets sun until around lunchtime then is in the shade for the remainder of the day (though this is good if you have kids as the lotion top ups is less of a worry). There is a roof terrace which gets sun for the whole day though. Crazy busy on the last weekend of our stay with a massive influx of guests (staff said it was busier than August!), made for a very noisy environment and frequent queuing for a couple of days. Struggled to understand the entertainment hosts in the evening at times!

Our stay is almost over. Honest review. Definitely not a 4 star hotel, its needs some TLC. No socket by the bed, no kettle or cups, no mini fridge and no balcony light. Bathroom very dated, bath stained but not dirty. Food quality poor to average. The chef cooking fresh food is not a chef or even a cook. His offerings look like left overs and he never cleans the plancha during service making everything burnt. The vast majority of staff are lovely apart from one grump on reception. Hotel quotes "free wifi". Even in reception it goes off every late afternoon and miraculously comes back just after midnight every day, around 8 hrs later, this cant be a coincidence. The lifts are inadequate for the size of the hotel and lm glad its not July or August. We should have had a nice meal included in our package at the upmarket La Gioconda restaurant, when we went to do the reservation 24hrs in advance as per the rules, the hotel had omitted to tell us it was only open 3 nights a week. We ask for that night but it was fully booked, no apology offered.

I have recently returned from my 3rd all inclusive visit this year. This time I took my parents for their first visit to the Griego. As usual, all staff were friendly and efficient, even when very busy at the bars and restaurant. Great selection of drinks, snacks and food. All the food was fresh and served hot, fantastic choice at all meal times. Rooms comfortable and cleaned daily to a high standard. Plenty of entertainment all day and into the evening, with plenty of comfortable, quite areas to relax. Special thanks goes to Carl, one of the managers, for helping with our bookings, and the lovely gesture of a bottle of Cava in the rooms on arrival! Great to see so many regular faces among the staff, many who remembered me from my previous visits, this really makes me feel at home in the Hotel. The Hotel is in a great location, 15 minute taxi ride from Malaga airport, or 10 minutes on the train, with a 10 minute walk from the station to the Hotel. Plenty to do locally, loads of bars and restaurants in the town, smashing botanical gardens nearby, along with a couple of parks and the marina. 24 hour reception for early/late arrivals and departures, along with 24 hour security guards for peace of mind. Fantastic value for money, and the staff are a in another league compared to other Hotels in the area. We had such a great time that I have already booked for next April! Thanks to all at the Griego!

Celebrated my 70 th at the Griego. We had 6 days rest their before going to Madrid for three nights via the Bullet train from Malaga. Then returned for a further 9 nights. The Griego's high standards in cleanliness continued, and the food was of a high standard with plenty of choice. A Mexican night has now been added The Gio Conda restaurant which you can use once a week if all inclusive cooked barbequed meats to your liking and the large choice of desserts and salads made for an enjoyable evening. As it was my 70th when I returned from the Madrid to the Griego, in the room courtesy of my partner was a bouquet of flowers accompanied by bubbly and chocolates from the hotel. Finally, what is special about this hotel is the quality of all its staff. They are so friendly and welcoming from the minute you arrive . They strive to help you have a great holiday. It seems to be indoctrinated into them. We will be back to see the team next year in February when it re-opens.

We were excited to visit here as it is listed as a 4* and in a great area. Had emailed ahead as it was my fiance's birthday the day we arrived so the hotel had kindly given us a high floor as I requested with a lovely bottle of cava waiting. View from room was fab and a decent size. Availability of drinks in different areas was good, coffee shop was lovely. Great to see all the cocktails on the menu included in all inclusive, mojito was fantastic. Staff were great and so helpful when we went to them e.g. for taxis. Housekeeping were great and thorough with plenty of towels provided. Location is perfect as right next to San Miguel Street and we went out most days. We had a great holiday so I hate to put a few gripes but: - food was just not 4*. Stayed in many a 3* with better. Tried La Gioconda restaurant the 2nd night but it was much the same. Meat tough and a lot of the food cold with difficulty getting a table no matter what time you arrived. So we just ate out the rest of the week - for a 4* the lack of tea/coffee making facilities and fridge in room was surprising -we were excited that travelling in October we had just made the last couple of trips of the 'beach bus' so many people talked about. However when we arrived at the beach it was 12 euros for 2 beds and none of the all inclusive treats available - I guess that must finish in September -the usual sunbed hoggers. Only part of the pool gets the sun during the day so 4 towels on beds left all day in the sun is especially frustrating but that's more down to selfish people rather than anything to do with the hotel Overall, the staff make this hotel especially the bar staff, David on entertainment and Carl the owner. Thank you for a lovely week!

Dear 192Melanief, thank you so very much for choosing our Marconfort Griego Hotel for your holidays and for taking your time in reviewing your stay. We are glad to read you overall had a great holiday and we really appreciate your positive comments regarding our hard working staff, availability of drinks, housekeeping and location. We take very well note of our guests feedbacks as it is our best tool to learn and offer five stars experiences. Please let me tell you we are really surprised for your words regarding our food services. Most of the feedbacks we receive, are always related to the excellent quality and variety of the foods which we offer in our two restaurants. Actually we have a seven day rotations menu, with different choices for lunch and evening meal, as fish, all kinds of meat, a selection of vegetarian options, vegetables, soups, salads, show cooking, stews,etc... Our restaurant La Gioconda also serves a selection of freshly prepared pizzas and pastas on a lunch time and becomes our BBQ meat restaurant during evening meal service. Regarding the beds at the beach, it is not a service of our hotel. We only offer the bus and the snack bar. Kind regards and we really look forward in welcoming you back soon.
