Great hotel with friendly staff. Rooftop bar is really great. The location is perfect with a lovely view of the ocean from the room and a comfortable bed. Lots of choice for breakfast. Will definitely come back here next time I am in Torremolinos.
Very difficult to fault this stunning hotel. From start to finish the customer service was exemplary, the cleanliness exceptional, the room with a view, just stunning, the food wonderful and all details in between had been considered from fluffy towels, gorgeous toiletries and a full mini bar. Weirdly this seems to be a rarity these days! The communal areas, pools, and decor were all gorgeous and contemporary and the beach across the road was just as special with fab service and a lovely beach bar offering some of the best food in Torremolinos. I can’t wait to go back.
When we arrived we were quickly and efficiently booked in by a really friendly girl on reception. We had a small problem with our on line check-in but again that had been fixed by hotel reservations. Since we have Platinum status we were upgraded from our original Executive Suite booking to a Level Suite for free. The suite had an excellent sea view and a long balcony on two sides. It was very comfortable and the bed in particular one of the best we have slept in. If there was a weakness it was the fact there were no storage drawers and very little shelve space. If we had been staying for a fortnight instead of the week we booked it would have been difficult to find space for the extra clothes. The hotel is absolutely spotless and benefits greatly from the new reception which is situated in a more logical position than previously. The Level Lounge was particularly good for having breakfast in such a relaxed atmosphere. Perhaps due to the time of year it was easy to find loungers which afforded breathtaking views of the coast. It would have been nice to have a beer at the end of a hard days sunbathing but unfortunately that was not available until 7pm. Since wine is available during the afternoon I presume that in the past guests have perhaps abused the availability of beer leading to its withdrawal. Hotel staff are amongst the most friendly hard working and eager to please that I have had the pleasure to meet. At the Level you could not ask for more from Eva, Sol and her colleagues who were so helpful. The standard of organisation in the restaurant meant they could deal with evenings when almost every table was occupied. Housekeeping went out of their way to greet you on every occasion. In the bar one evening when I presume there had been a staff absence it was left to young lady called Tamara to cope with all the table drinks orders. For those not familiar with the bar lounge it is huge. She was literally run off her feet and pulled in all directions. I am sorry to say some guests were less than patient with their comments when it was obvious it was not the staff members fault. To have coped the way she did was nothing short of miraculous especially when we found later she had covered the shift when feeling unwell. It really was something to witness. A special thanks to Carmen who heads up animation for producing an entertainments programme that was as good as we had experienced in a hotel and we have been too many hotels To manage this group of staff must be a privilege As far as food goes most of the time we could find something to our taste in the evening. Perhaps more vegetable accompaniments could be offered. Breakfast choice in the Level lounge was excellent and was regularly replenished. Overall we had an excellent time which was enriched by the staff we met and the excellent weather. Needless to say we will return next year…
Hotel is clean and quiet, located literally across the street from the beach. The beach has a few restaurants and gift shops within walking distance. I stayed in room 127 and had a nice view to the beach and sea from the side. Buffet was the normal international buffet, eggs, sausage, rolls, fruit, cereals, lunch meat, cheeses, etc - something for everyone
Just returned from a short break to this hotel and had a really great experience. Hotel is well situated right on the beach across the road from the promenade. I booked The Level and was not disappointed. Easy check-in with everything explained and then shown my room. Had a room on the 8th floor overlooking the sea. Nice size room and lovely decor. Very comfortable beds and loved the choice of different types of pillows. Large flatscreen TV on the wall and even a blue tooth speaker to listen to your music. The Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the hotel. The bathroom was a tiny bit small but as I was travelling alone this wasn't an issue, The bidet took up some space and I really don't know why hotels still have these as no one ever seems to use them. The shower was a great walk-in shower. No bath but I wouldn't have used it anyway. Rituals toiletries and even a reed diffuser in the bathroom so smelt lovely. Mini bar filled with drinks and tea/coffee making facilities. There was even a kettle which was great as so many hotels cater for the coffee drinkers but not the tea drinkers. Plenty of wardrobe space with a good (easy to use) safe in the room. Once I had checked into my room. I went up to the Level area which is situated in building 2 (which houses the Level rooms) on the roof terrace. This is accessed by your key card so only Level customers can access this area. Met by the Level team who explained about the various facilities. The Level experience here is great. Lovely large lounge, pool, Jacuzzi and plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. Free use of pool towels and a great view. Snacks and drinks available throughout the day and it is open until 11pm. I took breakfast each dav in the Level lounge but could also take breakfast in the main dining room. I especially liked having breakfast in the Level as it was much quieter and had a great range of food with a chef cooking eggs, pancakes etc. Also served until 12 noon which is great if you want a lie in. From 12.30 snacks available throughout the day which included sweets, savoury snacks, cakes and fruit. Also a good selection of soft drinks, wine, cava, water and hot drinks. From 7-9 pm there is a selection of premium spirits and variety of tapas. I booked half board so ate dinner in the main restaurant on the ground floor (you can swap dinner for lunch if you wish). I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. It is very big but there was never a queue at the buffet. Big range of dishes including salads, cheeses, pate etc for starters and then plenty of choice of main dishes with meat and fish. I was pleased that there were quite few Spanish dishes which is what I mainly ate. Dessert was slightly less exciting as it was the same kind of things every night. I think if I was there for 2 weeks then it might become a bit boring. Also not a lot of vegetables but this seems to be the norm in hotels that serve buffets. Restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Every member of staff who I came across at the hotel were extremely helpful and the hotel should be proud of them. A couple of days in one of the Level hostesses gave me a Melia back pack as a gift which I really appreciated and I was also given a bottle of cava as it was my birthday during my stay. I want to mention Sol and Eva the two Level hostesses who were absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for them and were just lovely. One of them was always around during the day and evening to help with anything or even just a chat. I know other reveiws have mentioned the price for the Level but I would say it was worth every penny and really did make the holiday very special. Hope to come back soon.…
We like the Level in Melia very much. Normal breakfast and diner downstairs with all other guests is really mass tourism. Dinner downstairs was not 4 star level but 3 stars. And dinner downstairs was in the restaurant which is not sociabel at all. I mean not nice decorated us the restaurant, just mass tourism. What is very nice is that in stead of dinner you can take lunch. That is a very good idea, we did it. And in stead of dinner we enjoyed the small buffet at 19.00 pm on top floor at the Level. No mass tourism here, also for breakfast no mass tourism. So choose for that! Rooms in the Level are ok but very small bedroom and bathroom.
We stayed at the hotel for 10 nights half board in November. It is possible to upgrade to 'Level' but we declined, instead choosing a lesser upgrade to a higher floor. The hotel is cleverly designed so that most rooms can see the sea. Views are slightly offset but are not side sea views. The half board is provided by a buffet restaurant. The food is tasty and there is reasonable choice. Best to get there early if the hotel is busy. Entertainment was provided each evening in the bar and was certainly better than the usual. Drinks were reasonably priced, good quality and often generous measures! The team there were very good with plenty of smiles considering a difficult job. If there is a downside it might be the swimming pools. None of them is particularly big but the sea is close! I would recommend this hotel to couples and to business travellers. It is certainly above the usual and we will come back.…
This is a lovely hotel. We stayed late October/early November when it was quieter. The room (which had a separate lounge) was near the top with a big balcony overlooking the sea. The afternoon sun was perfect there especially with the sunbeds we could move around. The breakfast was wonderful. Good choices every day. They have a chef who will cook omlettes while you wait. We would highly recommend staying here.
Excellent service and staff throughout the Hotel but in particular in The Level everyone from the Concierges to the kitchen staff were especially efficient, friendly and aways happy to do anything for you. We will definitely be coming back again soon. John Morris and Allan Wynward
A late break, very good staff, and everything was well run. A nice room with a sea view and balcony. A decent size TV The restaurant provided all of our meals as we booked full board. Would we do that again? yes. The food was varied, very fresh, and of good quality. The large bar area worked fine with entertainment every evening.
