The hotel is lovely, close to the beach and close enough to the centre and other places. Unfortunately , the condition of the hotel was disappointing. We arrived at 12:30 and had to wait until the 2pm check in time because our room was apparently being cleaned. When we got to our room, it was dusty and looked like it hadn’t cleaned in a while. The bathroom had dust and dirt on the counter and the bathroom floor. There were a lot flies in the room, both dead and alive. I also mentioned that one of the beds looked like it hadn’t been changed. We didn’t take pictures, we were tired and had been travelling most of the day so we stayed and asked for another room the next morning. We were given a room which was much cleaner. You could tell it had been cleaned. The only downfall is that the rooms were cold. When asking for more sheets we had to wait a while and ended up going back to reception to collect them ourselves. I’m glad we didn’t get all inclusive, we ended up having dinner at the hotel on the first night as we were tired. The buffet served a selection of soups, fries, a tasteless paella, veg, meat and fish. It wasn’t the most amazing food. Quite disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was ok. There were some nice options and a variety of fruit and cold cuts. It was nicely displayed but serving cuttlery were not cleaned regularly. None of the food was served hot so we had to use the microwave a lot. I’m not sure if I’d consider going back to this hotel. I heard they are closing down, I think for the season. I could tell because of overall quality of service, cleanliness and food. It’s a shame as it’s it the perfect location. …
We stayed 10 nights in hotel. Cheery welcome check in reception. Hotel has very good position. Everything clean and tidy, rooms are very nice, good choice of food, staff and animation team very friendly. The Occidental has all the facilities that you'd expect.
Great location on beach with excellent breakfast. Sea view double room small but decent balcony with sofa & chairs. modern decor with an Ibiza vibe round the pool and easy access to the beach, with a couple of on beach bars/restaurants a 2 min walk. Check out 12 noon but hotel let us use all facilities until we were ready to go. Staff helpful and friendly. Huge bonus if you are on a tight timetable 10 min taxi to airport. Didn't head out beyond immediate area, stayed here one night before flying home & would do so again
Very nice hotel as for Spanish coast standards. Nice family room with entry to garden and a lot of space. Super pool also good for children. Good service, fantastic location in front of quiet beach. Very good breakfast
I stayed here for one week with my partner. It is a beautiful hotel, very clean and relaxing. The staff was really kind. We could park our car in the private parking (for a small amount). The location to Torremolinos centre is around 7 minutes by car.
Very nice hotel, on the beach, with very good service and facilities. The food was good quality, the personnel was very nice, the rooms recently renovated, good beds. Highly recommended for a short or long stay. Easy to chill out by the pool or on the beach, or you can easily go to the city of Malaga by taxi or bike.
We stayed at Occidental Torremolinos Playa for a long weekend for my birthday. The hotel is located in the perfect location, just by the beach, close to all the chiringuitos and bars as well as Torremolinos city centre. The fantastic location meant that we were able to leave the hotel and be on the beach in 30 secs. Our room was superb, having a sea view and balcony which meant we were able to wake up to a beautiful view as well as sit on the balcony enjoying the amazing views before bed. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming and they go above and beyond to make your stay at the hotel very special. The reception, bar & restaurant staff as well as the guest experience manager and entertaining teams were lovely and always able to help answer our questions and made every effort to create a memorable experience for us. As it was my birthday, they left a beautiful message and cake in our room to surprise me. The food was fantastic as there was a great variety at options; even for vegetarians like us. We also enjoyed a lovely seafood paella at the Arrozante restaurant and the staff there were very professional and friendly. On our last day, the hotel was able to accommodate a late check out for us as our flight was slightly later in the afternoon. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and we will definitely be back.…
The location of the hotel is great. Combination of smaller city, next to the beach but also very close to the train station to Malaga. Just 14 minutes to center. Rooms are ok. I was scared seeing defects of the wall or shower at tripadvisor photos. Some details was not perfect, but not disrupting in complete evaluating. Great to have a balcony with sea view, highly recommended room type.
Myself and my mum came here for 3 nights. We stayed bed and breakfast. The reception staff are lovely. We paid €30 for early check in as we had an early flight and would have had to wait around for 4 hours otherwise. Our room was a twin side sea view which was lovely. Could have been a little bit bigger but overall really nice. The only let down was the beds as they was quite hard and not very comfy. The breakfast Buffett was good and they had a lot of choice for people who have come from all over to choose from. The pool was lovely and of an evening they do entertainment next to the pool bar. The only downside to staying at this hotel if you’re not full board is that you’re pretty much further away from the touristy towns. You have to get a train/cab/bus into Torremolinos and Benalmadena which we thought was a lot closer than it actually was. Overall a nice stay, but wouldn’t stay again purely based on the hotels location.…
We've enjoyed our stay at Puente Real immensely. Days spent with our little one by the pool were made that much more enjoyable by the great pool bar team. Rocio, Inma, José, Damian: thank you for everything!
