I would give this a 2.5 out of 5. 11 of us stayed here and for what we paid, it was ok. The rooms were very clean & there was some very nice staff however the rooms have no fridge & every time someone above us showered it sounded like they were showering in our room. We could hear the toilets flushing & people talking all night. The air con worked well and very good size balcony. There is no vending machines for bottled water & no one at the bar, we all had to ask at reception for some bar staff frequently where the customer service from the bar staff was then not great. The pool is an ok size, however you’re not allowed lilos or balls, I would understand if the hotel was packed but it was just us around it most days, although there’s no one staffing the pool anyway so we did play with a ball in the end. There’s no complimentary shower room which most hotels have as standard these days.. the breakfast was average, the same items each day however the hot drinks machine I would avoid. Hotel is up hill, fine for walking 15 mins to the beach where all the restaurants & supermarkets are but our parents did struggle walking back up, we got a taxi few nights which was 6€. Probably wouldn’t stay here again but wasn’t the worst place either!…
Lovely large clean room. Good size balcony (could do with a table). Reasonable priced bar. Pool could be bigger. Overall had a great week. Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful and friendly. Met by Gabriel on reception lovely guy. Only fault room could do with a safe.
Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Staff our really nice, polite, like to have a laugh with you and nothing is to much trouble for you. Food is ok, I am a very fussy eater but have managed to eat every day. Rooms are nice and clean and quite big. Very happy with this hotel. My family and I would come back.
The property is an old hostel built for traveling sports teams in the 1970's. We left after two hours and found another hotel. No parking, no wi-fi in the room, a room safe with no lock, only a primitive hasp lock on the balcony door, a plastic Pepsi chair for the desk, and cleaning staff that accessed the room twice for no apparent reason while we were in the room. We didn't feel safe! Paid for three days and lost the money. Better than losing a laptop or a wallet.
Was welcomed by Pablo who was very helpful and friendly. Room was spotless. Overall would highly recommend to friends and 100% be back again. Great service, good location pool location fab. Couldnt fault the staff, especially pablo.
This hotel is not a three star lucky to get two. Beds and room are the only good thing about it. No activities for children, supposed to have ping pong etc but when questioned about it was told very bluntly by reception that they catered for 95% Spanish, which to me means Spanish people must like disgusting food as that is the only word I can use to describe it, and they must also prefer no fun for children. In the week I spent here with my 13 year old granddaughter the pool was not cleaned every day and a one inch screw jagged her on the foot, when we reported to reception he put his finger to his head indicating a screw loose, not at all what should of happen. There was also scum in the pool. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!
Lovely warm welcome by Pablo when arrived early hours, room clean, lovely big balcony with beautiful views of the coast. We were not expecting this too be a party hotel at all, and didnt want that, however the lack of music to liven up the evenings at the bar, made us venture out every night. What the hotel lacked in atmosphere, the staff fully made up for, and made our stay much more pleasant, Pablo - Front of house, always had a smile and a chat, nothing was too much effort for him, and a really genuine lovely man Laura & Lourdes - Behind the bar and always busy keeping everyone happy and everything tidy, such lovely friendly girls, a joy to see them every day, thanks Antonio(bald) & other lovely man with the dark curls - In dining room, such friendly service, always made meal times better, lovely welcomes and chats, thanks guys Young man behind the bar sometimes and the housekeepers- sorry i do not have your names but you were a credit to the hotel, and thanks for everything Gabriel- Night reception, thank you for the 5am coffee and packed breakfast, and the lovely goodbye All in all lovely stay, which was down to the staff, whom really are 5*…
Booked this as we knew the resort and were told the company were good. Well it’s like going back 30 years. One plug socket in the room, no fridge, just a basic room with very dated facilities. The photo gallery does not show the actual place as it should look. It is clean and staff friendly but it’s the last time I listen to other people’s recommendations about cheap holiday companies ie Sunmaster Holidays.
We last stayed in this hotel in 2009, when it was called the Marina Sur – it had been closed and boarded up for several years, until it re-opened last summer. We called in for a drink when it re-opened, and first impressions were good – the reception and bar areas looked clean and bright, the outside of the building had been renovated, and when we got a cheap deal for half board we thought we'd give it a try. Unfortunately, the improvements are only skin deep...... From the outside, it looks as though the rooms have new windows and doors, but in fact the frames have just been (badly) painted orange – looks great from across the road, but not close up! The old wooden furniture in the rooms has been painted pale blue, along with the wardrobe doors, but the bathrooms haven't been touched – they're exactly the same as they were in 2009 (and probably for a long time before that!) The main problem, however, is the food. Breakfast was fairly average, but the evening meal - think 1960's school dinners, and you'll not be far off. Chips every meal, together with some sort of stew which was mainly bones and gristle, chicken or fish in breadcrumbs (which was like eating a carpet tile), various types of chewy fish in hideous sickly sauces, the list goes on..... Mind you, we did have chicken once during our four week stay – chicken WINGS, with about as much meat on them as a grasshopper! Apart from one miserable waitress, the staff were brilliant – on the morning we left, all the waiters came out of the restaurant to shake our hands and say goodbye, like old friends. The cleaners were also excellent – clean towels every day, and bedding changed regularly. There were other problems such as no fire safety instructions in the room, no WiFi above ground level (in 2019!), the bar was hardly ever open at night and the lifts are just about big enough for two people and one suitcase....... To sum up, if you like staying in a 1970's time warp hotel with excellent staff (with one exception), lousy food and nothing to do in the evenings except watch Spanish TV, give it a try – fortunately there are plenty of places to go in the area for a decent meal and a drink.…
