We didn't get off to an auspicious start: we had inadvertently double-booked the hotel. It's a small 10-room boutique hotel and we then "suffered" with single rooms. They were very kind about it and gave a discount on the second night. But oh my what a charming hotel, close to everything with adorable, helpful staff. It's a converted convent/monastery and... Marvelous in every way! Situated 50 meters from the Mezquita, this small, but elegant former grand home is absolutely beautiful from its floral courtyard entrance to its well appointed rooms. The consierge made us welcome with our choice of excellent wines and made wonderful dining reservations at Casa Pepe and Casa Rubio--both non-expensive, but wonderful in the barrio. Yes, it... More

We loved this place. We stayed 1 night and every aspect of the stay went well. Attentive and friendly staff; Beautiful room with nice decor--We had a suite w 2 balconies that overlooked the Mesquita; good breakfast buffet. Location is very near the Mesquita but on a side street so noise is less. All the good reviews are accurate! We're... More

This hotel is situated in an elegantly restored old mansion. The setting and location are marvelous, a few steps from the ancient mosque (Mesquita). The staff are very welcoming, helpful and efficient. Very highly recommended. The restaurant on the top floor should not be missed. The view of the city, the nearby mosque/cathedral and the surrounding countryside is magical. And... More

We stayed one night at the Balcon de Cordoba, but wish that we had planned on another. The hotel itself is beautiful. We loved the view from the roof. The staff was very attentive and kind. The waitress we had for breakfast is fluent in several languages. The breakfast was good - meats, cheese, breads, fruits, juices, eggs cooked to... More

Can't say enough about this wonderful, boutique hotel in the heart of Cordoba. If driving, small car required and yes, heed hotel's instructions! Alex coached us in, steps from the Mosque–Cathedral, and took our car from there. We then stepped into "heaven on earth"! Lovely in every aspect! This hotel was a former convent, transformed beautifully and tastefully into a... More

This is one of the best small hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world. With only 10 rooms and fantastic staff the whole experience was very relaxing. We were met at our car in a local street and taken to the hotel. Following a very relaxed and informative check-in (with a drink), we were shown round the hotel... More

As wonderful as the accommodations in this botique hotel are, it is the staff which makes it shine even more. But -- do not follow your GPS directions if you are driving -- follow the website instructions and drive to the Mezquita and walk the last 40 yards. We drove a quarter mile down a twisty winding "lane" to get... More

After spending a week in larger luxury hotels in Madrid and Seville, both of which were wonderful, we realized we saved the best for last when we entered the beautiful, orange scented courtyard of Balcon de Cordoba. Reminiscent of a traditional Andalusian house, the hotel felt like being in someone's home but with the privacy and accommodations befitting a small... More
