We arrived by train and were happy to see that the Kipping was about a three-minute walk. The building is one of few that was spared during WWII bombings. Our room was plain but very comfortable. Breakfast was good. It's about a mile walk to the old part of town, through a pleasant shopping street.

We recently spent one night in Dresden at the Hotel Kipping. The hotel has a number of positives. 1) it's a short walk from the train station. We saw a number of tourists lugging baggage across Dresden. Not us. 3 minutes maximum. 2) It's very quiet. You would think that a hotel this close to the station would be noisy....

The hotel is within a block of the train station (very accessible), and the surrounding neighborhood is pretty. The breakfast was good, and we had a tasty dinner. The room was large with very high ceilings; bathroom was nice too except remember to turn on the shower and sink water at the controls outside the shower near the toilet; the...

First let me say any wifi problems reported by other reviewers have been fixed. I'm sending this review from my room at the Hotel Kipping, and I've had excellent connection throughout my three night stay. The staff are excellent; any reviews citing unfriendliness overlook that we are in Germany, where efficiency and politeness are revered above coziness with strangers. The...

The Kipping Hotel is a family-owned gem of a small hotel perfectly situated for sightseeing on foot and museum exploration in Dresden. The hotel is meticulously maintained, and has in-room unlimited Wi-Fi. The Kipping offers incomparable buffet breakfasts, with home-made delicacies and desserts, as well as 3 different egg preparations - scrambled, hard-boiled, and deliciously stuffed. The proprietors and staff...

Some things do not change I am pleased to say and the Hotel Kipping is one of them. I last stayed here four years ago. On leaving the hauptbahnhof head for platform 1 and hence the Bayerischer Strasse exit. On leaving the station you will see a rather tatty looking casino at about 1 o'clock, walk towards it and the...

If you enjoy a hotel with unique style, real character, atmosphere, good food and helpful staff Hotel Kipping is an absolute must. From a very warm welcome to an efficient check out my wife and I had no complaints. Initially you may feel the hotel is dated, but it was built about 1835 as a very grand family house and...

This hotel is lovely. It is a family-own hotel therefore keeps the charm of a small hotel and the building is also interesting and different. The staff is friendly and always helpful. The location is perfect if you need to stay near the train station since it is just one-minute way (literally) but you can't hear the noise from the...

I booked our reservation at the historic Hotel Kipping in Dresden because it was one of the few original buildings that survived the fire bombing of Dresden in 1945. Dresden has been reconstructed and it was interesting to stay at a small family -run hotel with a rich history. We arrived a bit early for our three night stay, but...

We stayed in the Kipping Hotel for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We made our reservations directly with the hotel on the Internet and received very good information from the hotel about its location, directions, and other information about Dresden. We were traveling by train; therefore, the hotel's location was very convenient... we walked two short blocks from...
