I stayed at the hotel for one night. I knew what I was getting, a bright and clean place to put my head at night. The hotel does the job, good location, clean and inexpensive. On the downside almost no storage space in the room, and I did not understand why the shower is not in bathroom, not separated from the sleeping area. Still, I would come back if the price was right.
Love the location of Ibis Budget Dresden City, just above a mall and 5 mins walk to the old town/tourist attraction. Another plus points are the luggage rack provided in the room and keyless check out (basically just leave the room without going back to the counter). Minus point - doesn't feel welcome at the check in counter, no greetings Hi/Hello... + Need to pay additonal city tax on arrival besides the hotel booking.

Hi, dear guest !ylau01", we thank you for your review of your stay in our hotel. Too bad that you were not completely satisfied. But we are working on it! Greetings from Dresden from the entire ibis budget hotel team.
I was travelling across Germany and one of our stops was Dresden. We were only there for 1.5 days. This hotel was in the perfect location! Tram lines are just outside the hotel and you are about a 8 min tram ride from Central Station and a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Zwinger. Brilliant if you want to get stuck into Dresden city centre and to see the sights!
Our hotel room was modern and trendy. A little warning: in our room the shower was actually in the bedroom. No privacy! Potentially a little embarrassing if travelling with parents but this is easily resolved as you can always take it in turns to leave the room.
We chose to have the hotel breakfast. It was lovely but a perhaps a little basic as there was no hot food but there was a good choice of bread, cold meats, cheese and fruit and greens. Nice little continental start to the day if you just want to get fuelled up for exploring.
I would recommend this hotel as it covers all the basics, is affordable and in a great location!
Room very basic. Only one small rail for clothes. No drawers. Clean and bed comfortable. Shower hot but cubicle is part of the room. Free wi-fi. Continental breakfast 7.50 euro - quite pricey for range available. Staff on reception not over friendly! Not somewhere to stay for more than couple of nights really. Within 5 minutes walk of Zwinger, Frauenkirche etc. Next door to shopping centre.

They have a bike rack accessed through a door past reception (first floor) which is used for guest bikes and for the hotel’s hire bikes. It is in a corridor/stairwell. You will need to secure the bikes using your own locks and or remove the wheel and take it to your room. There is no space for bikes in the regular left luggage room. The area where the bike rack is located is accessible to all hotel guests but, theoretically, is secure via combination code locks only given to hotel guests.
